  • Much thanks to Shadowmaster for his updates and what not these past couple months.
  • Donation Subscriptions: Active subscriptions from this month have been processed. I realize that there are many that are behind. Make sure you have ONE and only ONE recent ticket open about your subscription with "DP" in the subject and I will get to it as soon as I can (this week).
  • Kicked the training program back into action after an error and you should see all the results from any battles/training you've had or done.
  • Arena sim reported as down but appears to be working ok to me. Please report further problems.
  • Fixed a long standing but overlooked error with heat sinks being partially repaired.

    5/11/2009

  • Full-access pilot logins pay now refill lances that are missing units.
  • Fixed a problem on the merge request page that was preventing a few people from being able to request mergers.
  • You may no longer pull people out of training prematurely by buying them a mech.

    3/30/06

  • Good Gunners We'd like to remind everyone that the good and exceptional gunner mods are login-specific not empire specific. This means that if you get the gunner mods they will apply in every empire on your login as well as any units you are BPing!. This donation option is most likely the most useful DP item available for players who war or duel with regularity. For details please see the DONATE section.
  • Restarted the zone-conquering program which crashed last night.

    3/29/06

  • Lag We're going to be performing many large empire mergers today, which will generate a lot of lag off and on over the next 6 hours.
  • Builder Level 2 Clarified the description of the constuction cost reduction benefit. Added an additonal benefit of -25% cost for mech upgrades.
  • Fixed a problem where the HBK-N had its AC-10 ammo in the LT even though the weapon is in the RT. Its been relocated on all HBK-Ns to the RT where it should be.
  • Map Performance We have reduced the size of map downloads and improved rendering time. This should result in a noticably faster map-load in battle. We'd like to thank the empire Avalanche for his excellent suggestions for map performance increases.

    3/28/06

  • Fixed a problem with allowances.
  • Removed some lag on certain zone preplacements.

    3/26/06

  • Lag We're going to be performing many large empire mergers today, which will generate a lot of lag off and on over the next 6 hours.
  • You may no longer stable upgraded mechs.

    3/24/06

  • Sped up infantry creation in large empires.
  • Fixed a bug on the vehicle master list.
  • Lag We're going to be performing many large empire mergers today, probably over 100, which will generate a lot of lag off and on over the next 12 hours.
  • The tower design page has been adjusted to allow minimum sensor ratings for empires who have completed sensor research.
  • $100,000,000 reward Low level faction leader empires (levels 1-3) are now awarded $100 million for disbanding their factions. This is an incentive for "dead" factions at the bottom of the list to disband, to make more room for new factions led by higher level empires.

    3/22/06

  • We have begun processing merger requests. Please make sure you wait at least 3 hours from the time of a merger before submiting any merge-related help tickets, as several figures are only updated once per nevday and may initially appear incorrect. We would like to remind everyone that the free merging period will end april 1. Any mergers must be submitted prior to that date unless special arrangements have been made.
  • Fixed a bug with unfactioned empire merge requests.

    3/21/06

  • NevCon Vegas: 6 players have already registered and 2 more have begun to reserve rooms but have not paid yet. People are signing up quickly! Its going to be one heck of a party! Confirmed guests include Gunner, John Church, Necigrad, Tzu-Theory, Rox and Rmanrr. Special room rates wil be available until around April 15th, so sign up soon or miss out on a screaming deal! $99 per person for the weekend or $198 for a whole room. The event itself is free.
  • ABR Zone Conquering: Problems with conquering zones via ABR have been fixed. We are closing all relted tickets. If you have new problems please open new tickets. Thanks.
  • There will be some short delays with conquering zones while some issues are debugged. Thanks for your patience.
  • When you move your empires to one login, you might experience some messages misdirected to the wrong empire. An example is you made a bet with empire A and when you log into empire C you will get the -Your bet of $5,000,000 has paid off- message. This is a known problem and we are working on it now. Thanks
  • IDF weapons have been updated with new, shorter ranges as per the updates from Monday. Snipers also have a new default ideal range, though existing snipers have NOT been updated so you will want to do that yourself.

    3/16/06

  • Fixed an issue with random people claiming upon login.
  • NevCon Vegas: (baby yeah!) A new registration page has been coded and is ready to go! We are taking room reservations and payments starting now! If we haven't filled up the rooms we have by mid-April we are going to have to cancel some of them and it is unlikely we will be able to get more. If the rooms fill quickly we should be able to expand our group block so please, if you want a screaming deal on a room for the weekend and want to be right in the middle of all the action, reserve a bed/room through us today! As an added treat, we are giving people 10 DP per bed, or 20 DP per room for reserving through us. We are not making any money off the rooms, we simply want to ensure that we cover the substantial costs involved in reserving them.

To register for NevCon: Vegas (with or without a room reservation) please go to the Nevcon section of the Admin tab.

Every player should register individually, though you CAN have someone else reserve a room for you with their registration. If this is the case you would simply answer 'no' to needing a room.

    3/15/06

  • Merger Requests: Again...unless you encounter an ERROR, you should NOT open a help ticket about mergers.
  • Mergers Now Requestable: You can now request a merger from the empire list when you first log in. To be eligible for a merger you must have 2 or more level 7+ empires that were level 7+ as of 1/31/06. All empires must be on one login. More details are listed on the empire list, so please view them there. If you do not have eligible empires on your account the option will not appear for you.
  • Fixed a problem that has likely been causing all of the ABR zone conquering problems. If you have more problems with conquering zones via ABR please open new tickets. Thanks.
  • Mergers: You will not be allowed to merge empires that are currently in a faction with an ongoing faction war. Please plan accordingly.
  • Regaining Control of Empires: If you transfer control of an empire to another login and want to get it back within the 3 day window, simply go to the Login section of the Empire page in that empire and click 'Regain Control.'
  • You can now create new empires from your empire list.
  • You will now be taken to the empire list every time you log in which is making the way for being able to log in to multiple empires at once.
  • Abandoning Empires: You can now request a rapid deletion of an empire on your account from the empire list. Deletions will usually occurr after about 3 real days (though no sooner) and can be cancelled at any time. Once deletion is request you will not be able to log in to that empire unless you cancel the request.
  • Donation Mechs: Donation mechs are placed on the marketplace and are associated with a specific login not an empire. If you transfer control from one login to another, unbought mechs will NOT transfer with it. You need to either give that old login permission to enter your empire or transfer control back.
  • You can now transfer all DP with empire control when you send over control of an empire. Cancelling the transfer will return all of the transfered DP to the original login.

    3/14/06

  • Mergers: As previously announced, all empires that would be affected by the new 1 empire level 7+ rule would be allowed to merge. We will be putting in a system for people to request mergers this week. Mergers will begin next Monday, 3/20 to ensure that everything is ready. To merge, all empires selected must be transferred to your one login. You will then be able to select which of your 5 primary empries that you would like to merge, and which of them will be the resulting empire. The other empires will be seamlessly merged into the 1 empire, including research, money (or debt), positive and negative morale and surrenders. All current DOW's will be cancelled.

WARNING!: We have stated this many times but we want to keep repeating it so that hopefully some of you will take heed. We are aware that this process is going to result in a large number of enormous empires in the level 11-13 range. Empires of that size are too big for one person to run effectively by themselves, particularly in a time of war or preparation for war. The succesful large empires in the game are ones that are manned by a team of effective warriors and empire builders. Many people are going to be the proud new emperors of a level 11+ empire but are NOT going to have the skills, experience or time to properly run and defend such a beast. Those of you who fall into this category are going to lose big time when you get into a war and find you can not manage your empire. You will lose until your empire is of such a size that you can properly manage it. We highly recommend that people consider what is involved in running a large empire very carefully before they request a merger that will result in a massive empire. The benefits of having a large empire are many, but so are the tasks and chores that surround running them. Many players find that they enjoy the game much more when played at a smaller size because there are less headaches and less lag. As the game grows more involved, running a large empire is not going to get any easier and we aren't going to have much sympathy for players who chose to play at a level that they were not prepared for, and then lost. Look at the biggest, baddest empires in the game and ask yourself if you are ready to tangle with them...if you aren't sure then you aren't, and having a big empire is probably not for you right now.

Players WILL still have the option to trade their empires in for Donation Points as previously listed. This option will be available when the merger stuff is put in. You are allowed to only merge once, and no empire can be merged more than once. This means you can not merge all your empires, and then give control to a buddy who then mergers them with theirs. Nor can you merge more than your 5 primary empires. Empires must be currently level 7 and have to have been level 7 at the time we announced the mergers. Eligible empires will be marked on your login list.

Please do not open any help tickets about this issue until the merger request page is posted and we announce that we will be answering questions regarding them.

  • IDF Weapons: We are reducing the ranges on all types of IDF weapons. We will be reducing range by 3/6/9/12 for IDF 20/10/5/2 respectively and reducing their minimum ranges as well. This change will go into effect midday on Thursday and will affect all current and future weapons, towers and units.
  • Changed the login back-end so that passwords are no longer passed between web pages.

    3/13/06

  • Fixed a visual error with an improper number of arenas being counted on the crawl.

    3/12/06

  • Dueling Simulator: The earliest form of a new dueling simulator has been implemented on the Arenas page. Currently this is a simple matchup between a Chameleon and a Centurion. The skill of the mech is the skill of your active person when the simulator is begun and the enemy mech will have a skill based on yours. Currently the enemy mech is immobile and thus skips the movement phase. It will still fire and is a tougher opponent than you think! We hope to get the AI updated to move these enemy units this week, but it is not as easy of a task as it sounds so please be patient. Variations on this are coming soon, but the main goal is to give new players a means of improving their mech battle skills quickly and easily. Help files and such will be up soon.
  • Neveron Downtime: As you may have noticed we are experiencing some weird momentary downtimes. We assume this has to do with the blizzard that we are currently enjoying, as 6 inches of snow has already falled and they expect at least another 6 by tomorrow. Please plan accordingly seeing as this weird up/downtime may continue through tomorrow.
  • Quests will now properly have their flagged zones removed when the quest finishes.
  • NevCon Vegas: We are close to booking the whole thing and will be announcing everything on Monday assuming it all goes as planned. It will be Saturday, May 20th at the Stratosphere in Las Vegas. We are getting a block of rooms pre-reserved for us that Neveron is prepaying for. We will be setting up a registration system inlcluding a Paypal and Credit Card link so that people can reimburse us for rooms. There is currently no registration fee for this event. Rooms will be $99 per person for the whole weekend (a screaming deal for a Friday and Saturday night) or $198 if you do not want to share a room with someone. Meals are not provided. The main event will take place from 10 - 5 on Saturday and we expect to see plenty of people in a more casual setting on Friday and Saturday night. More details to come!

    3/11/06

  • Promo Money: Belatedly gave out the promo money for the end of February.
  • Limited Login Access: As we expected there are quite a number of people with questions and issues with login access. We are working through help tickets as fast as we can, so please be patient while we attend to everyone. Thanks.

    3/10/06

  • Fixed an issue with reresearching mechs on the TC page.
  • Fixed an error with removing people from factions.

    3/9/06

  • Fixed a problem with setting all BP scores at once.
  • Fixed another issue with setting BP scores.
  • Added a history section to the Quests page.
  • Limited Access We have introduced a limited access login option. A limited access login has most game functionality removed. You may still view everything, but may take no actions with your empire other than send mail, bet on arenas, and use the help system. You may not buy or sell, spend or transfer money, move units or equipment, attack, BP, or duel. You can't train, build, repair, produce, etc, etc, etc ... the only things you can do are mail, bet, and send help tickets.

There are many reasons for a limited access login. First, you may use a limited access login without loading the registration control. If your control fails to load, on both pages, you see the help page with a dozen or so suggestions on how others have been able to get ActiveX working on various systems. Under these is a link to login with limited access. This will allow you to check on your empire from a workplace computer or other places where you aren't allowed to play games and don't dare install the control. It will also enable you to check on your empire from a friends house, or other location where there are already 5 empires registered.

There are four ways to login with limited access. First, if you bypass the registration control as described above. Second, if you are logging in with a pilot login to an empire where the primary login is not very active. The reason this sets limited access is to prevent people from avoiding the 5-empire rule or single level 7+ rule by simply setting up a full-privilege secondary login to run the empire. The primary login must be the most active login in an empire - if not all pilot logins will have limited access. Third, if you have logged into more than 5 primary logins from your computer (or upon logging into the sixth) Neveron will check the logs from the past month. The 5 primary logins with the most activity will be considered your main empires, and any in excess will have limited access (pilot logins are not counted toward the 5-empire limit!). Fourth is the limitations on level 7+ empires from a single computer. Right now we are not enforcing that, as we are following the schedule we previously laid out. Currently all five of your empires may be level 7+. As of april 1, only 4 empires may be 7+, decreasing by one per month until july 1 when only one empire may be level 7+. Excess empires will be given limited access. Note that you may still create a pilot login with limited access, so this will handle a very important case where your second empire hits level 7 accidentally and then you lose full access to your less active of the two. In that case you should log in with a pilot login (creating one if needed) with permission to scrap units or buildings to get back to level 6, at which point you'll be in compliance and have full access again. Again, the level 7+ limitations are not in effect yet!

Important logging in with limited access is sufficient to prevent deletion from inactivity. We are aware that people often babysit empires for friends who are on vacation, and logging in with limited access is fine for this purpose as it will prevent deletion.

  • Fixed some problems sending money from faction leaders to other empires.
  • Resource Market Exploit: Fixed a highly abusive bug with the buy bulk option on the resources market that was allowing unlimited purchases at an easily fixable price. We are considering what action to take so if you are someone who has known about this and has been repeatedly been using it to buy OR sell resources you should open a help ticket immediately.
  • Fixed a problem with al empires being listed on the Battleplayers score list.

    3/8/06

  • You may now remove a class point for free once every Nevyear.
  • Fixed a rare error on the military maintenance page.
  • Fixed an error on the create infantry unit help page.
  • Fixed a performance issue with conquering zones that have lots of buildings and resulted in multiple reruns and improper morale loss.
  • Conquering Cities: When buildings change hands, the chance of building destruction is now based on the CF of the buildings. High-CF buildings have a lower chance of being destroyed and lower-CF buildings have a significantly increased chance of being destroyed. Additionally, buildings that are not destroyed have a chance of being damaged. Damaged buildings can be repaired by assigning a build rate via the Buildings page. Industrial complexes, such as TC's and Recycling Centers, have a lower than normal chance of being destroyed, but due to their large size and complex equipment are almost always damaged to some degree and will require repair.
  • Fixed a visual error with weapons needed to produce vehicles on the factories page.
  • Fixed a problem producing vehicles with no weapons.

    3/7/06

  • Changed the ticker on the faction info page to display the month and year when your faction ended its last FWAR instead of the number of months.
  • Fixed some issues with the breakeven page stemming from the recent changes with vehicle production.
  • New Feature: You can now transfer primary control of empires to other logins. To do so, simply go to the Logins section of the Empire page and follow the instructions at the top of the page. Once primary control of an empire has been moved from one login to another, the original login will have 72 real hours to reclaim control if they so choose. Once that 72 hours has passed the new login will now be considered the all-powerful primary login and there is no going back. This will allow people to consolidate their empires onto a single login thus making management easier, donating simpler and donation options like Good and Excellent Gunners more useful.
  • Fixed a bunch of errors related to the new login code.
  • Updated the login registration pages to include the Verisign icon and reformatted them for easier reading.
  • Sped up all the purchasing pages slightly.
  • Changed about 30 pages to work properly with the new login code.
  • 200 DP prize winnersAlthough it went unannounced, the February war rating winner was the level 3, 21st Century Real Estate Agents. This month, level 12 was selected and Gladiator Battleworks was the winner. Each have been awarded 200 DP. To be entered into the monthly drawing for 200 DP, you must end the month with the highest War Rating for an empire of your level, as listed in the top 100. The winners for every level are entered and one is selected at random the first week of every month for a 200 DP prize. Good luck to everyone this month!

    3/6/06

  • The ctrlNev1 ActiveX object has been updated once again, and several minor fixes were made to the login process to accommodate a few more players who were unable to log in. It is possible that this will be the final update to the registration control.

    3/5/06

  • Soldiers in training now can not be used to create infantry units.
  • Fixed a bug where unfactioned empires could BP for each other via the crawl.
  • Added more logging to the zone conquering code to further be able to track procedure and errors.
  • Fixed a visual problem on the breakeven page with items listing more than once.

    3/3/06

  • Made a new version of the registration control that should fix a problem for a few of the final people still getting errors. Depending on your settings, some systems may prompt for a restart of your computer. If you didn't have any trouble logging in previously, there is no need to reboot.
  • Made donation profiles more clear when you still had DP left to allocate.
  • Breakeven prices for vehicles now includes the resource and production cost for their weapons again.
  • Fixed the money rank listed on the status bar, which has been incorrect for a few days now.
  • Fixed a whole stack of bugs related to the new zone conquering stuff. Thanks to those of you who were warring last night and this morning and encountered problems. With this new system and your help we have already fixed multiple reliability issues.

The main thing we are looing for now is a bug where you can reattack the zone that you just won BEFORE the zone conquering stuff is run. There is some process that is putting units that should still be in battle into enemy zone before the zone conquering stuff runs, and then people are able to attack the zone from enemy zone. This could lead to some problems in fiercely contested battles where people are attacking and reattacking zones quickly and we need to find it. Any help friguring out the cause of this problem will be rewarded.

    3/2/06

  • Conquering Zones: The whole game is now running on a new zone conquering system that runs a program on our servers instead of the normal web page. The goal is to be able to better track bugs and make auto-error correction easier. This will no doubt create some new problems so please hang with us while we sort it all out. Everything seems to be 99% ok but there will no doubt be issues that we haven't found yet.

The most obvious change will be a short (5-10 second) wait at the end of every zone capture while the process runs. While you are waiting for the zone to conquer your units will still be listed as in battle and the zone will not have yet changed hands even though you get a congragulatory message.

In rare cases if there was an error running the process you may need to wait up to 2 minutes before it is rerun.

  • Deleted invalid merc contracts where the merc was higher or equal level as the employer.
  • Resurrected Soliders with Mults: When soldiers are resurrected their skills worsen but their multipliers do NOT. They also will no longer show on the Mults section of the People page, but this does NOT mean their mults have gotten any worse.
  • New Donation Options: You can now donate for Elite or Skilled soldiers, which are much the same as Perfect soldiers but with reduced benefits. Donation Point cost is 3 DP for Elite (skill 4 soldiers with greatly enhanced multipliers) and 1 Dp for Skilled (skill 6 soldiers with enhanced multipliers).
  • Expanded the area in which the quest tower will become visible. If you follow the instructions provided you shouldn't have any problem finding the tower.
  • New Technology: Added some high-end research items allowing for more efficient treasure point production. They can be found on the Education branch of the tech tree. Also lowered the base time of TP production to accomodate these increases.
  • Fixed a problem where people were able to hire mercs of higher level than themselves.

    3/1/06
