Much thanks to Shadowmaster for his updates and what not these past couple months.
Donation Subscriptions: Active subscriptions from this month have been processed. I realize that there are many that are behind. Make sure
you have ONE and only ONE recent ticket open about your subscription with "DP" in the subject and I will get to it as soon as I can
(this week).
Kicked the training program back into action after an error and you should see all the results from any battles/training you've had
or done.
Arena sim reported as down but appears to be working ok to me. Please report further problems.
Fixed a long standing but overlooked error with heat sinks being partially repaired.

Madison Area Players: I (Wayward Son) will be in Madison, Wisconsin and available to get together with folks for a
chat/bite to eat on Sunday, August 10th. If you are interested please send an e-mail to gdematteo@oddpost.com and I will try to work something
out.
Fixed a bug that was not showing the list of repairable mechs on the Donate page properly.

Changed the Infantry Platoon Creation and Multiple Platoon Creation to emphasize Infantry Skill instead of Rank for Platoon CO's.
Experiments today with both headcaps and ammo explosions properly tranferred money from the dead pilots to the empire funds.

New Feature: The buildings completed message that appears in the lower-left-hand corner of your screen when newly constructed buidings
are done is now a link. You may click on this and it will update your building queues but not take you to the actual buildings page.
Arena prizes have been recapped at $2 billion due to unknown issues with the awarding of prizes over that amount. We will continue to seek a way for
prizes to be greater than this amount.
Faction Leaders now have some access to vital information of empires in their factions (Funds, income, BV, civpop). This can be found on the Empire
Data page by clicking on the empire's name on your faction list.
Due to timeout errors the act of paying for an arena will not come until the units have been placed on the map. This will help keep timed out
arenas from stealing people's money during creation.
Mail Server is still down and we are not able to access our email. I believe this is due to a MS Windows Update I installed a couple days ago,
but I have not had time to look into it. If anyone is familiar with a recent MS update that borks Exchange Server, I would appreciate if they would open a
Technical Help Help Ticket with "MS Exchange" as the subject.
Found Nev down this morning, unsure of the cause. Restarted all the servers and took care of everything. Trying hard to keep up with all the help tickets,
but as usual there is a massive backlog of bugs. I (Wayward) am here by myself right now and am focusing on taking care of some root issues that cause
many of these problems, and the bugs that affect the community as a whole instead of odd things that are affecting a select few. Please be patient if you
have a help ticket open, as I am working through them as I can. Some take only 30 seconds, but many take 15-30 mins, and still others will take hours. Multiply
that by the 110 currently open Bug Help Tickets and you can see that I do not have enough hours in the day to just zoom through them all. They
will all be addressed eventually.

Unclaimed Donations: There are currently 2 Donations that were lacking login names and could not be processed. If the donators would kindly
open help tickets with the Paypal transaction ID's in then and instructions on how to award the DP I will move them right along.
Several people have overlooked this lately in the frenzy of TC building that has been going on. A TC is not just a building that takes up
300 buildable spaces in a zone. It is a massive structure, built like a warren into a zone with underground sections, massive support infrastructure,
and as is typical with technology research, massive amounts of toxic waste, chemicals and the like. As is stated on the Buildings page, when a TC is
built it doesn't just take up 300 buildable spaces, but actually reduces the buildable space in a zone by 300 spaces. This means that if a TC
is destroyed, those spaces are gone and can not be recovered.
Mail Server Down: The Neveron mail server is currently down. Please do not send mail as it will not be read. Open a Help Ticket if
you need assistance of some sort.
Upgrades to the Donate page are complete. While this will not affect many of you very much (and may inconveniance you a bit) it is now a much
more usable page for larger empires. All Donation options that required a query of significant duration were switched to a two click system. You
now need to click the button once to get the list to show, and then a second time to convert the Donation Points. The active Donate option will
be highlihted in blue for ease of use. Tests in Kizo Major brought the Donate page from timing out perhaps 50% of the time to loading instantly, and
the Zone Doublers page went from timing out 100% of the time to loading instantly. This is significant because it means a greatly reduced server load,
and thus better performance for everyone.

Fixed a bug that sometimes wasnt transferring money from a dead person back to the empire funds. Your dollars should be safe once again.
Help Tickets: Just a reminder that Admin focus is on help tickets and not emails. Most tickets are being processed promptly, with
the excpetion of Bugs tickets which are (as usual) difficult, painful and slow. A bug help ticket will get processed long before an email, however.
Added an Arena Help section to the Help Tickets pages. Please use it for obvious reasons.
Ok yep, the list now only shows zones with a greater than 100 buildable spaces.
Updated the Zone Doublings page to only load information for a specific doubling at your discretion. The list of already doubled
zones wil already show, but the options on you might want to double will not load unless you click the button. This should greatly
improve performance of this page for all empires. Huge big monster empires are still getting timeouts on the income doubling list, but
I think I am going to limit this list a bit to try to speed it up.
Rest assured. Any frustration you guys have felt about the game not working right when it otherwise should is felt tenfold by us while
we are trying to GET it to work right. I'm gonna kill this thing I swear.
I am trying very hard to make some various pages run more efficiently, as many of you have probably noticed with the arenas page. I am
trying to make it so that you can impose BV limits to help reduce the unit search time on arena creation, but some rather odd bugs with the page
are preventing me from implementing what should be extremely straightforward code. I will also be working on the Training and Donation pages
today, so expect them to be unavailable or buggy now and then. Thank you for your patience.
You may now flag your help tickets for public viewing. While the infrastructure for viewing these tickets has not yet been coded,
I wanted to get people started on benig able flag if they are willing for their ticket to be made public. This is to help players see
what bugs exist, what have been reported, as well as what the Admins have replied. It will also aid the Admin workload by preventing
people from sending in duplicate tickets on bugs that have already been reported or asking questions that have already been answered.
Not all tickets flagged will be made public.

Arenas will now refund cancelled arena monies straight to the empire funds.
Fixed a bug with engine parts not showing properly on the Parts page.
Fixed a bug that was keeping mech pilots from being killed properly.
As many have noted, the auto-award of double kill arenas is not working properly. If you believe there was a double kill you should
go to the Arenas page and click on the arena before it is deleted. This should award the double-kill prize.
Your current Victory Points have been added to the Arenas page.
Updated the 1 empire at a time code to examine more closely your current arena activity to determine if you are really involved in an
arena or not. People were having problems with losing in an arena, but then not being able to enter a new one until their former opponent
had claimed the arena (which apparently is taking some of you quite a long time for some reason).
The $2 billion arena cap has been lifted and all arena winnings now go directly to your empire funds (instead of to the person who
paid the entrance fee like before). I will be watching the arenas very closely for abuse and will institute another cap if necessary.
Clarification: Arena income for the path nevmonth does subtract your losses, but only the amount yuo paid to enter the arena,
not the entire arena prize.
When looking at the empty towers list on the World Map the game will now check to see if towers in your empire have come out of
transit and are ready to be placed. This will save a trip to the Armoury page to update the towers' status from "transit" to "ready."
7/22/03
New Policy: You may now only have one open arena at a time. People were using this option to skirt arena money restrictions. If you are
participating in an arena you must be clear and free of it before you attack/create another.
Fixed a bug that was preventing arena income to be shown properly on Arenas page.
Added the number of unassigned soldiers in your empire to the tower commissioning list. Please remember that towers only use 1 real 'person' and
hire their additional crew members by charging you money ($10,000 each).
You can now no longer commission towers until you have created terrain properly in the zone. Previously it was letting you place your towers even
if terrain had not been created, thus making some real problems once terrain was actually created in the zone.
7/17/03
Battalion training has been disabled because it causes way too much lag. When we can find a more efficient way for it to be implemented it
will be reintroduced. For now please simply use the company option.
7/16/03
When giving a bug report error types, line numbers and page names are critical information! Please don't send us a report saying "I dunno,
got an error of some type." If you see an error, write it down and get it to us. The reason we give detailed error reports is so that you acn get the
information to us easily and we can fix it easily. Thanks.
Please remember that the help tickets format like the public mail does. If you do not manually code in breaks and paragraphs spaces with html, and
instead hit 'return' your message will come out very ugly :) I am working on getting some autoformatting tools installed on that page.
7/15/03
You may now change the help topic of your help tickets in case you mislabel your help ticket.
Help Information: Please folks, having access to the database does not mean we can read minds. If you need help with something, say you
have a unit stuck in an enemy zone that you have tried every which way to get them out (attacking the zone, etc..) but can't because there is a bug, you
need to supply us with all the right information. This means things like the unit ids, zone cords they are stuck in, the fact that you have tried attacking
the zone but it won't let you, etc.. We have gotten an absurd number of help mails with information like "My units are stuck in an enemy zone. Get them out."
Help tickets like this are simply a waste of everyone's time. Units are supposed to be in enemy zones. You should be able to attack the zone and get them
out (assuming the target is not restricted). If you send a help ticket like this we will simply close it and move on. Please, supply the right information
so that we can help you. It saves us all a lot of time.
One significant cause of lag has been a stuck stored procedure that deletes old empires. We will be stopping this procedure and completing this task
manually to save on server lag.
New Feature: PLEASE TAKE NOTE! A new Help Desk as been implemented to help the Neveron Admins better serve you. A hardcoded help desk is now
operating under the HELP link with a Help Ticket system. This will eliminate the messy task of weeding through emails, as well as the inevitable loss
of email, returned email and miscommunications that come with email. From now on please address all correspondence you would normally mail us to this
new help ticket system. It will allow us to respond to help requests while we are not in the office, easily delegate help admin duties to other people,
monitor correspondence with players, and support players in a more organized and efficient manner. Please open seperate help tickets for seperate
problems. You also do NOT need to include information such as your login name, empire name, etc. as that is logged already.
So please, unless you have a problem that specifically prevents you from using the new help desk, PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL US. Our focus is on the help desk from
now on, so if you want a prompt response open a help ticket. If you already have emailed us with a problem or question that has not yet been responded to,
please open a help ticket for faster service. Thanks.
Spamming our mailboxes by sending emails to multiple addresses about the same topic doesn not get your issue addressed any faster. Please, I have asked
this several times and it is really becoming a problem. Carboncopying mails to multiple Neveron addresses only gets multiple people working on it at the same
time, and reduces our productivity. Please simply send one mail to one address and it will get handled as quickly as possible. Thank you.
7/14/03
Deleted all public mail messages due to a rampant number of OOC threads and posts. The entire block of mail was moved to the forums. I have every wish
for people to be having these types of discussions, which is why the forums exist. Please use them.
7/13/03
Fixed a bug with arena income calculation.
Made it possible to create challenge arenas regardless of arena income threshold limits.
7/8/03
Important Reminder: We can ONLY send passwords to the email address listed on the account. Please make sure that your logins
are equipped with valid email addresses at all times.
Hardware Upgrade: As of July 1st Neveron is now running a second T1 line bringing out bandwidth up to 3 MB/s which should greatly
help as Neveron continues to grow. Thank you to everyone who has donated over the past 2.5 years to make this possible.
