  • Much thanks to Shadowmaster for his updates and what not these past couple months.
  • Donation Subscriptions: Active subscriptions from this month have been processed. I realize that there are many that are behind. Make sure you have ONE and only ONE recent ticket open about your subscription with "DP" in the subject and I will get to it as soon as I can (this week).
  • Kicked the training program back into action after an error and you should see all the results from any battles/training you've had or done.
  • Arena sim reported as down but appears to be working ok to me. Please report further problems.
  • Fixed a long standing but overlooked error with heat sinks being partially repaired.

  • Mail System Wipe: I am upgrading the mail system to be much simpler (code-wise) and put a MUCH lower strain on the database. This will require that I wipe the existing mails clean. If there are mails that you would like to save, I suggest that you copy them to a text file. I will be wiping the mail system clean on Friday, so please have your mails archived by then. I won't be able to retrieve a mail you lost so please don't ask.
  • Found a redundant query on the mail page that was likely creating a lot of extra load. I'm also looking in to creating a new mail system, since the current one is based on some of the oldest systems in the game and full of stupid stuff that is laggy and inflexible.
  • Yay! Our packets have been liberated from their laggy oppression. I was unable to access the Neveron network sufficiently to post an update, but there was an announcement in the chat room letting people know about the situation. A week long bout of violent weather in the region destroyed some of our ISP's equipment meaning that they had to route traffic in a manner that severely taxed their system. As such the ISP lagged horribly, resulting in the poor performance these past few days as well as the crash a couple nights ago. Thanks to everyone for their patience, and it looks like everything is running well.

  • Set an autofix for empires that have their emperors set to units that no longer exist. When you log back in again the emperor will be set to no unit and he will appear properly on your claimed people.

  • Mostly weeding through help tickets today and making minor changes. Also added some pop-up text to the Help page when submitting a Donation Related ticket that asks people to remember to include their Paypal email address if they are referencing a pending donation (or subscription). Otherwise I have to ask for it and wait for you to reply and you don't get helped as quickly.

  • Added some error correction code to the training program which should help it bypass the problem that is causing it to crash. I am continuing to monitor it for ways of making it stable.

  • Fixed a second error on the empire intel page.
  • Fixed a rare exception on the empire intel page.
  • Reputation Award Bug: I have confirmed that there does seem to be an occaisional bug with the awarding of reputation for mech kills in certain instances. I have fine tuned the logging to even further narrow the instance. If you kill a mech, go to your units page and view the unit readout for the unit that got the kill. This should update the unit reputation to be the same as the reputation of the soldiers in the unit. If that doesn not fix the rep, please open a help ticket so that I can look into it. Hopefully this will allow us to get this fixed right quick.

  • Fixed an error with killing vehicles in battle.
  • Donation Subscriptions: If you have not received donation points from a recent subscription and do not already have an open ticket, please open one so that I can look into it as soon as possible. Please specify if you have a Paypal or credit card based subscription, and if it is from Paypal please include your Paypal email address.
  • Finished some tools for player help admins to use. Player help admins will be announced soon.
  • Added some further logging to unit destruction to track a possible problem with awarding reputation.
  • Fine tuned the tracking of the errors on the training program to ensure that I can find out what exactly is wrong with it. I expect that by the end of the week I should have it extremely stable.

  • The unit scrapping program has been restarted.
  • Quests and Raid Expiration: The programs that control these features have been fixed and are in the process of cleaning up old quests and raids. Both should now work properly.
  • Player Help Admins: Putting out a call again for players interested in investigating problems and clarifying game rules/mechanics for other players. If you think you are better than Seth now is your chance to prove it! Please open a help ticket with "Player Admin" in the subject if you would like to apply. Candidates should be well versed in game mechanics of all types and be experienced with battles, wars, markets and related problems.
  • Help Tickets Closed: To enable me to better serve you nearly all open tickets have been closed. If your problem still needs to be addressed or if there is information that you still need to communicate please simply reopen the ticket and add any pertinent information that you may have gotten since first opening it. I realize that communication and player support has been slim to none these past few months and it is currently my priority to turn that around. There are a couple things that need to make clear regarding what expectations of service should be:

    -We do not have the staff to put in the hours it sometimes took to dissect and research problems for reimbursement. My focus is not "making things as it should have been if things went right" but fixing macro problems and game mechanics that result in game issues. Reimbursements will be given as is readily determined to be appropriate and is reasonably assessed to be necessary.

    -Player admins will be employed to provide clarification for other players on game rules and game mechanics. They will also be used to gather information on problems and mechanics to then communicate to me better how to identify and resolve issues. They will not be given sensitive information about your empire, nor will they be allowed to log in to your empire. This means that you will need to work with them to clarify information, try different things that may correct the issue and also gather new information. Please make the effort to develop good relationships with them, so that they will be effective. By helping them you help yourselves.

  • Help tickets now sort by when they were last updated either by a player or admin. This should make it easier to find recent tickets.
