  • Much thanks to Shadowmaster for his updates and what not these past couple months.
  • Donation Subscriptions: Active subscriptions from this month have been processed. I realize that there are many that are behind. Make sure you have ONE and only ONE recent ticket open about your subscription with "DP" in the subject and I will get to it as soon as I can (this week).
  • Kicked the training program back into action after an error and you should see all the results from any battles/training you've had or done.
  • Arena sim reported as down but appears to be working ok to me. Please report further problems.
  • Fixed a long standing but overlooked error with heat sinks being partially repaired.

  • Begun truncating some login related tables to help improve performance.
  • FWAR Starting Issues: I'm trying to debug the issue where some empires wind up with improper starting levels for their faction wars. What would be a big help would be being able to test with a faction war that someone was about to start anyway. If anyone who is planning on starting a faction war in the next week could please open a help ticket (faction leaders only please!) and tell me when they plan on starting their war. I will start the war for you and be able to debug much more easily. Thanks!

  • Battalion Training: Due to a bug battalion training has not been working properly. I am very sorry to those of you who have been using this option and not been getting results. There is not a way to give refunds for training not awarded else I would. The battalion option has been debugged and does work properly now.

    Please remember that it usually takes a couple minutes for training results to show after putting units in training. On rare occaisions the results may not show for a few hours.

  • Fixed a short-lived error on the fn_landwar.asp page.
  • Faction Wars: The penalty for allowing a faction war to expire was intended to be changed to be a +1 skill penalty to all soldiers in the original attacking faction. Highland Glucksburg's faction was subjected to this last fall, but it was never hard coded. The hardware problems of last summer/fall prevented us from completing this process. There is currently a FWAR that has exceeded its time limit but it hasn't been ended because all the penalty code had been removed. The code has been updated and is ready to go but I'm going to give another 7 days for the faction war that is supposed to have already expired. If the war has not finished the original attacking faction (Cult of the Blood Moon) will suffer a skill penalty.

    Under the old system the originating faction was charged a huge sum of money and the faction war continued until completion. This new system is intended to avoid people simply affording the protection of a faction war by making the penalty a more intangible thing.

  • Updated some code in battle to handle heat related shutdowns and explosions more efficiently which should result in less error and quicker phase rollovers. Also added some better logging for heat explosions with mechs.
  • Fixed another issue causing the same effect in the vehicle armoury. Also fixed some issues with certain engines not showing on the Parts page.
  • Vehicle Armoury Bug: Fixed a problem where many vehicles were not showing properly on the armoury page.
  • Added the DP of a merger to the request page for empires that will be merged into other empires.

  • Due to severe illness I haven't been working these past few days beyond making sure that everything is up and running. I'm sorry to those who are waiting for assistance, it might be another couple days yet.

  • Experienced another power outage from weather and our faulty battery backup is still giving us problems with two computers. We will be replacing the backup in the next couple days. All battles that were in progress were ended and units were sent home. Whenever possible after a downtime we will be sending units home like this.

  • Added an autocorrection for some rare Raid errors that were causing problems with the Wars page.
  • Fixed a problem with some people getting a merger button disabled when they shouldn't.

  • General Happenings: Mostly have been addressing a bevy of help tickets with complicated problems. Next I will be changing the terrain formula which will be laborious and require a lot of testing to make sure the results are what I'm looking for. This will set the stage for being able to change towers (range/IDF) and ideally make non-city zones smaller (60 x 60 perhaps). Please feel free to post ideas/comments/questions/concerns on the forums relating to any of these issues.

  • Fixed a problem with adding vehicle drop platforms to the market at the same price as you currently are already selling them at.
  • Logins with all emperor privies can now swap crews properly.
  • Fixed an error that logins without permission to swap crews were getting when trying to swap crews.

  • Arena Bets: Congragulations to our first Nevannual overall betting winner, Ghost. For winning more cash betting on arenas than anyone else, Ghost has received 50 DP. The contest is held every Nevyear, with the winner announced on January 1st, Nevtime. This year's Hida Fushu award goes to Lone Wolf Domain, who gets 25% of his losses returned, plus the infamous Mackie mech.
  • FWAR Times: The FWAR times listed on the war log page are often inacurate. I am working on fixing this but its not being cooprerative. The time remaining listed on the details of the FWAR (click either faction name) are accurate.
  • New Feature: Secondary logins can now remove themselves from other empires by clicking the Remove link on the login list.
  • Fixed a bug that was preventing research from being awarded properly and giving an error when the research was completed with TP.
  • Dumped a massive table that was certainly causing database troubles at times.
  • Convention 2006 Mechs: After getting a complaint that someone wasn't getting the free mech upgrades after mech kills I investigated the code and found it to be done in a manner that doesn't allow for much player flexibility. I can see why Randy coded it this way, as the info necessary to easily log such a kill doesn't exist and will add lag to the battle code, it also requires that players use their free upgrade within 24 real hours of scoring the kill. I don't like how this works and will change it when I can make time, but for now people should know that if they want to use their free upgrade they need to do so within 24 hour of scoring the kill.
  • Fixed the Noob Faction repair bay which had somehow accrued a massive repair delay time. Also changed the code to exempt all Noob Faction repair bays from this delay.
  • Fixed an issue with destroying mechs with vehicles.

  • CVN-2006 mechs can now be DP renewed to clear their upgrades.
  • Merger costs can be easily caluclated by requesting the mergers from the respective empires and looking at the merger page on the empire that is to be merged into. Mergers are not submitted for admin approval until the target empire requests approval.
  • Clarified when mergers are possible and not on the Logins page.
  • Skill Update: Skill losses can now be delayed by scoring kills. As with skill checks and reputation, the length of time offset is dependant on the difference in BV between the killer and the killee. New soldiers and soldiers that have been affected with DP skill downs (but not multipliers) have their skilldown counter essentially 'reset.' This will cause an enormous amount of lag for several minutes each day at around 5 AM server time. The lag that was felt today between 11.30 and 12.00 noon server time was from updates setting soldiers to keep the same skill loss interval they currently had.

  • Donation Subscriptions: Players who have active subscriptions but have not been credited for them in the past 2 or 3 weeks should please open a help ticket with SUBSCRIPTION in the title and it will be handled ASAP. I am very sorry for the problem but there was a grave technical error that has prevented them from being processed properly. Please specify if you have a credit card or Paypal subscription and if it is a Paypal subscription include your Paypal email address.
  • Removed some test code from the vehicle creation process that was creating errors in some instances.

  • Completely recoded the inner workings of the vehicle creation console. Nothing has changed outwardly but it is now using much more efficient processes which should reduce database load as well as eliminate errors. The issue with running out of draftable soldiers and then it selecting improper soldiers has been remedied and it should simply hire soldiers as appropriate. Any problems with vehicle creation should be reported in detail in a help ticket and we will address it promptly.
  • Infantry have been removed from the FFA.
  • The FFA event has ended and the FFA is back to normal.
