  • Much thanks to Shadowmaster for his updates and what not these past couple months.
  • Donation Subscriptions: Active subscriptions from this month have been processed. I realize that there are many that are behind. Make sure you have ONE and only ONE recent ticket open about your subscription with "DP" in the subject and I will get to it as soon as I can (this week).
  • Kicked the training program back into action after an error and you should see all the results from any battles/training you've had or done.
  • Arena sim reported as down but appears to be working ok to me. Please report further problems.
  • Fixed a long standing but overlooked error with heat sinks being partially repaired.

    5/11/2009

  • Fixed a bug with company arena creation.
  • Corrected for an exception on the companies page.
  • Corrected for an exception on the lances page for bugged lances.
  • Debugged arena creation from the change below.
  • Added some BV checks to the arena creation and attack process that will update units to their proper BV before the attack is made. This may mean that whil it allows you to attempt to attack it will then boot you once it updates your BV.
  • Quotes: Please do not use quotes in empire/units/people names. It really messes things up. We have many corrective checks in to help the situation, but it would really just save everyone a lot of time and effort if you stopped using them alltogether. If you have a problem and it involves an active person with quotes in their name, an empire with quotes in their name or a unit with the same issue, take the quotes out first and then open a help ticket. Thanks.
  • Got some new buttons on the mech/salvage marketplaces for easy access.
  • New Feature: Mech salvage has been implemented!!! Not just the scraps that you have been picking up for the past couple years, but entire mechs. Any mech that is destryed by a standard CT internal structure death (not by head cap, ammo crit, cockpit crit or engine crit) has a 10% chance of being salvageable. If salvageable, the mech will show on a list in your mech armoury. You can then choose to slap a pilot in it or sell it on the open market. Salvaged mechs can be found as a subpage of the Mech Market. These severely damaged mechs will be great deals for anyone looking for some cheap firepower.
  • Fixed a major bug on the marketplace where two unfactioned empires would buy items for half price from one another (including from NASI!)
  • Made a change which should help with the problem of deselected arm weapons preventing punches in some cases where the same weapon exists in other locations.
  • Fixed one last problem with lance/company verification.
  • Corrected a problem with the new code that was setting a new co from your companies and lances. Also added an extra check to the lance/company verification.
  • Fixed a problem with certain limb types not showing on the marketplace.
  • Fixed a problem with the zone information frame on the map resetting to zone 0,0.
  • Downtime Postponed: The 2 pm downtime has been rescheduled for Tuesday at 2 PM.
  • Downtime: Neveron will be down today from about 2:00 - 3:00 PM (MST, GMT-7) for maintenance. Please plan accordingly.
  • Fixed 295 people that were claimed by logins that no longer existed.
  • Added the same checks to the Lances page as listed below on the Companies page.
  • Added some auto-checks to the Companies page. There are some really bugged companies out there with improper CO's and the like. They will now either have a new CO chosen for them, or if there is another problem, be disbanded completely. You will be notified if either thing happens.
  • There is now a $1.5 million cap on infantry prices.

    1/30/04

  • Fixed another bug with company creation.
  • Updated some empires that still had negative resources.
  • This is a reminder about timeouts when attacking large empires. Large empires have a special calc that is done to help save on lag. The first time the attack costs are determined it will take a long time to calc, perhaps timing out several times. After that is finally done you will be able to attack quickly for about 4 hours. After that another calc must be done.
  • Deleted 300 empires that were in violation of the 5 empire rule, cheating, or had 'junk' names.
  • This is a reminder to folks that single and double quotes are not allowed in empire names. They create all kinds of bugs and problems. If you have quotes in your name please change them immediately. New empires with quotes in their names will be deleted.
  • Fixed a rare exception on the Research page that was affecting some empires.
  • Began a better logging system of attack costs to be able to collect more data as well as check bugs.
  • Fixed a really messy, nasty problem on the company creation. The companies page is antique and will be rewritten in the next week or two. Errors gotten in the past 20-30 minutes were all from me correcting other problems.
  • Fixed some code on the restricted page that was using old formulas about restrictions. It now properly lists who may make limited attacks against restricted empires.
  • Capped the infantry market at $3,000,000 per item and removed an item that was set at $1 billion.
  • Added a terrain check to the new claiming feature to make sure new terrain isn't created for zones that already have it created.
  • Fixed some problems with the lance verification feature.
  • Fixed lance/company/battalion movement.
  • Fixed another bug with relocating all general parts.
  • Fixed a bug with claiming zones that had never been claimed before.
  • Gave a message instead of an error when battlecomm messages are too long. They must be 128 characters or less.
  • New Feature: Greatly enhanced tower placement by enabling you to choose either skilled or unskilled crew members for your tower. A "skilled" crew member is anyone with a vweapons skill of less than 8. This way you can put unskilled people (soldiers with 8's in every category) in your sensor towers and save the skilled ones for towers with weapons. Additionally, mech pilots with vweapons skills of 8 will be completely ignored, thus preventing them from ever being used in a tower (how embarassing for your mech pilots were that to ever happen to them!)

    1/29/04

  • Fixed a bug with moving all general parts.
  • Added a check to the bad towers thing that will look for towers that have somehow gotten X, Y coords of less than 1. They will be put back in your armoury.
  • Update the NevCon section of the Admin page. Details will be forthcoming about this event soon.
  • Updated the swap driver/gunner function to correct the vehicle if there are some problems with the crew.
  • Fixed some bugs with various 'move all' functions on the armoury and parts pages that were sending 0 items.
  • Fixed the research page timeout, line 144, for empires with over 3000 zones.
  • Corrected a problem which was overcharging people for remote attacks if they had a war declared on the enemy.
  • Added a message to the unit readout page showing when they will be available to move out of enemy zone.
  • Fixed a bug with moving units from the Land of the Dispossesed.
  • Added a cool new check to the preplace units page (from the map) that makes sure your towers are properly set. If not they will be decommissioned and put back in your armoury.
  • Fixed a bug that was allowing people to cheat by claiming and unclaiming a zone over and over until they got the terrain they wanted. Terrain is now remembered when you unclaim a zone.
  • Fixed a bug with the units page that lists only infantry. It was listing mechs and vehicles as if they were infantry.

    1/28/04

  • Fixed the Units page so that certain subfilter would carry over when clicking one of the column headers to relist your units with different priorities. This means you can now list towers by status or zone or anything else instead of just by BV. Click the column header of the column you want to list them by. Also excluded towers from the vehicles list.
  • Updated the "Update Zone Data" function on the Flags page to do more checks, correct for newly created repair facilities and delete obsolete flags (like those of zones you have lost in war or have unclaimed). Many pages only check the zone flag information to improve perfomrance. If you think one of your flagged zones should be listed somewhere that it isn't, go to the Flags section of the Land/Build page and use this button to correct the zone information.
  • Donations: There have been a flood of donations lately that have not had login names attached to them or have been e-checks. In the first case you need to open a help ticket (donation related) with the Paypal transaction ID and the login names/amounts where you want the DP to go. In the second case you need to wait the 5-7 business days for the e-check to clear the bank before we can process the donation. If you send an e-check AND forge to include your login name, you need to do both these things. There have also been a lot of "when" questions about mail donations. If you donate through the mail please wait 7-10 business days for it to arrive. Sending it priority or overnight will ensure that it gets to us more quickly, but if it gets here in 2-3 days it will not be processed for 3-5, as mail donations are rarely processed on weekends. We get many help tickets from people who send us something on Wedensday and are livid that by Saturday nothing has been processed. Chances are we won't get that Donation until Monday afternoon. Please be patient and if you want a faster method of donating please look into getting a Paypal account verified. Thank you to all who have supported Neveron in the past and plan to do so in the future.

    1/27/04

  • Hopefully fixed a bug that was not taking DOW into account while hotdropping.
  • Troops movement is currently disabled and will not be back online until tomorrow. Sorry for the inconveniance.
  • ABR is currently off while people get a chance to get back online. We will turn it back on this evening.
  • Downtime: There was some quite obvious downtime today from about 11.00 am to 2.30 pm. A hard drive failed on the web server and we had to buy a new one, rescue the information off the old one and reformat the computer. Things appear to be back up and running now. Hopefully we will have no more mishaps.
  • Corrected some problems with faction leaders hitting level 0. They will now be properly removed and the faction turned over to the next highest level empire in the faction. If there is more than one at the same level, the empire with the highest morale will be chosen. If there are no other empires the faction will be disbanded.
  • Added a verification button to the Lances page similar to the one on the Companies page. See previous update for details.
  • Rearranged some code and added a couple more checks that should greatly limit or eliminate arenas that get attacked by more than 1 empire in less than 24 hours.

    1/26/04

  • Added a legend for the level 4 world map
  • Added some links to the Finanace page that will make things a bit more conveniant. The biggest change is a new page that breaks down your military maintenance for you so you can see exactly where it is all going and even compares it with other empires your level. This will be added to the empire stats page shortly.
  • New Feature: You may now claim groups of up to 20 zones at a time with a new fairly self-explanatory feature on the Map page. Additionally, you may claim zones adjacent to your new zones without refreshing the map with this new feature. This means that using the level 2 map you can claim many, many zones relatively quickly. Note that unclaiming zones is still a zone by zone feature, so please think before you go claiming 1000 zones tonight.
  • Fixed a major bug with the new Reputation code and it should be working properly now.

    1/25/04

  • Some larger, older empires have some old issues with companies that belong to their empire, but have not units in them and thus are not listed. A new verification button has been added to the bottom of the company summary that will allow people to verify that the companies in their empire are the correct number. The button will only appear if there are some suspect companies in your empire.
  • ABR is back up and running.

    1/24/04

  • ABR is down for the night.

    1/23/04

  • Fixed the zone claiming problem
  • Made a lot of changes to allow pirate zones to function properly.

    1/22/04

  • Update the fire soldier option to remove them as ZCO of your zone before they are deleted. This was creating some problems with your zone lists.
  • Updated the zone where unassigned pilots and units from empires with no zones from "No Unit" to "Land of Dispossessed." If you have UNITS in this zone (NOT unassigned people but UNITS) it is because you have no zones. You need to save $25 million and buy a new zone to move your units out of this zone.
  • Corrected SRM-4 Mk II and SRM-6 Mk II ammo to use 1/10 of the combustibles they had previously required.

    1/21/04

  • Donation Update: Research and completing research donation bonuses are now converted at 2 DP per research point instead of 3.
  • Cleaned up some code with repuation loss that should make it work consistantly.
  • Fixed a problem with vehicles getting negative rep in some cases.

    1/20/04

  • Fixed a problem with IDF ammo and some SRM mk II ammo not showing on the marketplace.
  • Addded zone lists to the various marketplace pages and upgraded them to include the civpop of the zone listed. Only flagged, named zones are listed on the marketplace.

    1/18/04

  • Cleaned out the messages table which should speed things up a bit and accounted for a couple minutes of downtime this morninig.

    1/17/04

  • Fixed a major error with battle related to the new rep code.
  • Reputation loss when being blown out of a unit will depend on the reputation of that unit. If 20% of the unit's repuation is greater than the standard rep loss for that unit, the soldiers in the unit will lose 20% of the unit rep instead of the standard rep loss.
  • The location links on the Units and Empire pages will now activate the zone displayed as the active zone.
  • Fixed a serious error with the map.
  • Added some spice to the Research page.

    1/16/04

  • Reputation: You will now gain 20% of the destroyed units rep when you destroy a unit.
  • Conquering Cities: When capturing a new city it is highly advisable that you look at the Buildings page with that city active. This updates many parts of the database for your empire. The same is true when cities are recently finished building.
  • Resource plunder has been reenabled and debugged. I am going back through and figuring out who lost what resources and setting it straight again. If you are someone who wound up with lots of resources and you sell them you may find yourself short of cash.
  • Resource plunder has been disabled while it is debugged.

    1/15/04

  • The list of research facilities in the drop down menu was again made to include zones with untooled research facilities.
  • NevCon: Canada: That's right folks. Plans are already in the works for another gathering in British Columbia in late August. Mark your calendars for August 27th-31st as there will be a multiple-day NevCon at a camp in this beautiful Canadian province. Randy and Wayward Son will be making a strong effort to attend for at least part of it. More details will follow and contact Chetter if you have any ideas/questions.
  • NevCon: New Hampshire: The party was a big success this year with lots of local Yanks as well as people driving up from south of the Mason- Dixon and even flying in from Michigan and England. Everyone had a lot of fun except for we poor saps that had to stay until the end of the mech tournament which was at about 3.30 AM! Some better planning will make sure we start and end earlier the next time around. Thanks to all who attended for ensuring that we had a good enough time that the poor fools who didn't come should be envious enough to plan for next years'! Make sure you a couple days off mid-week between Christmas (which is a Saturday this year) and New Year's. We will be having another party then and plan on making it bigger and better than ever.
  • A problem with negative resource plunder was fixed this week, and people's negative resources were corrected.
  • Pirate progress is coming along quickly. If you get a message today or this week that you have been attacked by pirates, it is a test and I will be actively monitoring their progress. Initial pirate attacks will be unfocused, undirected, and weak. You will get full rep, salvage, and morale benefits for defeating pirate units during these tests, although eventually that will not be the case.

    1/14/04

  • Added a little text to the Empire Stats page regarding needing more workers. The number shown is how many TOTAL CIVILIANS you will need. Only 1/4 of the civilians work for your empire, so you need 4 times as many civies to fill the jobs you have available.
  • Changed unclaiming so that it doesn't reload the whole screen. Should be faster for everyone.
  • Still more bug tickets to answer than Jim Carey had emails in 'Bruce Almighty' so please hang with us.

    1/12/04

  • We are currently working through the massive backlog of help tickets, and there will be little posted in the updates until we trim things down to where we actually start making real changes.
  • Fined a level 4 $5 billion for cheating on the marketplace. This person was creating empires and funnelling their money through the marketplace to their main empire. Please be aware that empires made in succession with similar names or junk names will be deleted.

    1/8/04

  • MPOGD: Thank you to everyone who voted on MPOGD.com last month. All empires larger than level 0 were given $10 million or 10 Nevdays of their Daily Net Cash Flow (whichever was larger) as a reward for helping us stay in the top 10 list. Keep up the good work so that Neveron can keep growing and getting better!
  • Happy (belated) New Year!
