Much thanks to Shadowmaster for his updates and what not these past couple months.
Donation Subscriptions: Active subscriptions from this month have been processed. I realize that there are many that are behind. Make sure
you have ONE and only ONE recent ticket open about your subscription with "DP" in the subject and I will get to it as soon as I can
(this week).
Kicked the training program back into action after an error and you should see all the results from any battles/training you've had
or done.
Arena sim reported as down but appears to be working ok to me. Please report further problems.
Fixed a long standing but overlooked error with heat sinks being partially repaired.
5/11/2009
Thank You Neveron for another great year. Luckily
the end of 2004 was not so eventful as the end of 2003 and things are running
relatively smoothly. There was a lot of great progress made this year on many
fronts and the Neveron Staff is very much looking forward to getting back in
gear in January to make things happen. Our help ticket situation has largely
abated so with a week or so of clean up we should be full speed ahead in fixing
a lot of inconsistancies with the game, coding lots of new features and
finishing up things like the class system.
NevCon: New Hampshire was a great success and many thanks to those
that came from all over the country to be there. Some big prizes were handed
out because of the random prize list that we used (damn that Nev...er...MIRC X2
RNG!!) and many small ones. Other big prizes were won in the raffle that has
become a defining part of the NevCon and produced some truly memorable moments.
Hundreds of dollars were raised (not the thousands that had been previously
misstated in Nevmail) which help us pay for our plane tickets and travel
expenses. Thank you to all who donated or bought raffle tickets...it really
helps these events happen.
Congragulations to Nimon, Dobie and the other 2 winners of the mech tournament
(whom I can't remember right now...sorry). A new format ensured a quick ending
and a challenging twist to what are typically violence based contests. Nimon's
team was the quickest to figure this out and exploit it.
Uber-special thanks to Chet and especially Conan for organizing, planning and in
no small way paying for the room and food that night. You guys are dedicated!!
It was great to meet everyone who came out this year and hear your stories and
ideas. Player input always has been and always will be huge in dictating how we
spend our time and what features get coded or tweaked. Hopefully we will see
you all again (and bring your friends) next year!
Happy New Year!

Nev was down this morning due to a vampire bat infestation, or possibly severe weather. Fortunately the Neveron emergency response force
was able to get things fixed. We apologize for any inconvenience.
12/29/04
Fixed a bug with betting arenas through use of precision teamwork and cutting edge communications technology. Team Nev does it again!
Hey kids, tomorrow is Nev Con, so be there..... or be deleted! Ha, just kidding. Big ups to Chet for his support and effort with the event.
12/26/04
Merry Christmas, Kwanza, Chanukah, and in Admin Seth's case...Festivus! Give your fellow Nev player the gift of a full scale attack on their
biggest city, or not. Anyway, enjoy the holidays, and the upcoming Nev Con. Please be patient on any help ticket delays as we will be a
little short on man hours until after the holidays. Randy and Wayward are vacationing on their private island while I'm locked in the office
trying to answer tickets.
12/24/04
Fixed the enemy Guardian icons to be transparent.
Fixed a bug where flagged zones were not listed on the ammo page if they had between 1 and 199 civpop.
Reordered the flagged zones on the Units page so that they are alphabetical.
12/14/04
Restored login creation abilities that were accidentally taken out with some other code on the Manage Logins page.
Fixed a bug where mech pilots with a mech preference were losing skill if they were being put in a vehicle to replace a vehicle crew member
that was being promoted to a mech.
Fixed a bug where mines on the market would sometimes show when claiming a new zone.
New Feature: Secondary logins may now battleplayer for their faction if they have their permission set by the emperor.
Fixed a rare expection on the Wars page.
Hunchie-G's now have their ammo in the right torso instead of the left torso.
Fixed a problem where on occaision you could accidentally partially attack a surrendered zone resulting in your units being in enemy zone
in the target zone.
You now must be the emperor or have the send/receive mail persmission set to read the sent mail from your empire.
New Feature: There is now a send/read mail option for secondary logins that the emperor may set that allows secndary logins to read
the emperor's mail and send mail to other empires. The "from" name will still be the active person that the secondary login has, NOT the emperor's
name.
Removed the incredibly obsolete "Toggle Allow New Players" option from the manage login page.
Fixed a bug where Randy was being a dork.
Units that fight in ABR should now have their last fought time properly updated.
Defender class City Artillery Defense will no longer fire at unspotted units.
Fixed a problem that had been allowing a few mechs, such as the KGC, to fire multiple identical ammo-based weapons when only 1 round total
remained for that weapon type.
12/13/04
Fixed a problem where rear-facing weapons in mech torsos were not being destroyed when the appropriate crit in the front torso location
was hit.
The dead units list was listing all units destroyed by falling as destroyed by "Hot Drop." This has been changed to "Falling" for all units,
including hot drop victims.
Fixed a bug where if you attacked an arena with more troops than could fit along the south border some would appear in the upper left corner,
where the defender starts. The units should now properly start lining up along the south edges.
The engines section of the Parts page now lists parts in other zones by engines and gyros.
Shutdown Mechs Firing: This has been exhaustively tested and determined to be a myth at this time. Often there are bugs that make it
into the lexicon of Neveron player bugs that simply do not exist. If you can figure out how to make shutdown mechs fire then please open a ticket
and let us know, but at this time we have not seen credible evidence that this problem persists beyond the last fix.
Fixed another problem with hatchets being not listed properly on the parts page.
Added some more checks to the draft procedures to avoid loss of draftees and PK conflicts.
Fixed a bug that was causing an error when the subject lines of mails were too long.
Fixed a bug that was not giving transit time for units retreating from challenge arenas (and accordingly giving naughty players a cheat for
instant movement between zones).
AI mechs are now subject to movement heat restrictions just like player units.
12/12/04
Fixed a bug that was preventing some faction items from being listed on the vehicle market if the seller had more than 5 of a certain vehicle
listed on the market.
The Battlemaster-S now has it's LRM-5 ammo crit located properly in the right torso and an extra LRM-5 crit slot was removed from a benign location.
Fixed a bug where logins with permission were still not able to sell general parts.
NevCon: New Hampshire: That's right!! Another annoying reminder about the best part of the holiday season. NEVCON!!! Woot!! There
have been some questions about donations at NevCon as we had forgotten to mention that, yes, as usual all donations handed to us in person are DOUBLED,
regardless of their size. There are lots of prizes and games to be won and gifts to be had. See the NevCon section of the Admin page for details!!
Fixed an error that wasn't showing TC's as costing the proper amount for empires with building cost modifiers. People were forgetting their +25%
building cost penalty when trying to build TC's and the game was not giving them a proper error about insufficient funds.
Fixed an error with sending mail that was over a certain size.
New Feature! You can now view your sent mail. Only mail sent after this update will be shown here. Sent mail will be automatically
saved for a length of time to be determined, most likely 1 nevyear.
12/10/04
Fixed an error that was affecting a very small number of people who were viewing arena fights.
Game Rules: Ignorance is not an excuse for violating game rules. Everyone is expected to read and know the rules as spelled out on the
Admin tab. Please read them!
Fixed a bug that was not handling the new betting arena NGC Bonus Prize properly.
IDF Update IDF weapons no longer target the "upper body" mech hit locations under any circumstances. Previously there were
terrain situations that would cause IDF to always use the "partial cover" tables, making them incredibly deadly to mechs as head hits were
1 in 6, instead of the correct 1 in 36 that they have been changed to.
Added a check to ensure that promo codes are unique. People had prviously been able to create promo codes used by other empires already.
Merc Update Employers and mercenaries should no longer surrender to each other. If, after reading this, you have a case where an
employer surrenders to a mercenary please report it as a bug. PLEASE NOTE! This only applies while the contract is active. For example, your level 5
empire accepts a mercenary contract to kill pirates in a level 10. You kill the pirates and in the process occupy several huge cities. When you hand
the cities back over to the employer your "current losses" may show well over 50%, but you will not surrender. However as soon as you cancel
the contract you are eligible to surrender to the employer/merc! It is advised that if you are in a potential surrender situation, you wait 3 days
after returning the cities before ending the contract to avoid any unintended surrenders. Also remember that you can still surrender to other empires.
In the example above, if another empire were to attack you as soon as you handed back the big cities (and dropped under -50% recent change) you would
still surrender to the new attacker.
Basically, surrender issues are extremely important considerations for both mercenaries and employers and should be considered when creating, accepting,
executing, and ending any mercenary contract.
Help Article DP About 200 DP (in total) has been awarded to various players who have been contributing to the help system. Anyone who has written
an article that is still in the system was given additional DP. Thanks to everyone who has given their time to write the articles that make up the
system and remember that anyone can earn DP by contributing articles.
Credit Card Donations: There have been a couple generous people trying to put through $1,000 donations that have been denied. I am
told by our card services company that this is because of a transaction limit you your cards, not because our company is denying them. You can still
use Paypal to donate with a credit card or bank account. Thank you for all your generous support in keeping Neveron up and running.
Added another auto-correction to the lances page. If you are having trouble moving a lance, or anything at all, view the lance details
via the Lances page for that lance.
Correction: Only class level 2 warrior empires get a double faction leader bonus. Mercs receive no such advantage as per the classes
benefit/penalty list. Additionally, the doubling only applies to TRANSFERS WITHIN YOUR FACTION. Faction leaders get no advantage from this bonus.
AI units will no longer be able to retreat from battle if they have 0 MP. Previously, units on the edge of the map were able to retreat off
that edge on autopilot even with 0 MP.
There have been unconfirmed reports that mechs killed in an arena, but that turn into a salvaged mech, were not generating reputation for
the killing unit. Additional checks and corrections have been added to ensure the rep is properly credited.
12/09/04
Fixed a visual bug that was showing mercenaries as only able to receive a normal faction leader transfer even though they could actually receive
double.
Fixed a bug that was preventing weapons from being bought in zones with less than 500 civpop.
Replaced the default popup for new empires that included a long boring explanation about how crappy our help files are with the new help files! Thanks
to all the players who have written articles making this new help system possible!
Added some clarifying text to empire creation.
12/08/04
Scrapping vehicles now sends you back to the related units page instead of the default units list.
Pilot logins in the faction leader's empire can no longer see faction leader info of member's of their faction. Only the primary login may
view the extra information.
Fixed a bug that was preventing people from setting their surrender rate when they should have been able to.
Fixed a rare exception when moving lances.
12/07/04
Zhukov's now properly require heavy vehicle electronic instead of assault.
12/06/04
If you have unspent class level points, your level link will appear bold red.
Warrior Class Level 2 Warrior Class has been implemented. Please refer to the Class Proposal for benefit/drawback details.
Set your level (and/or view the proposal) by clicking your empire level on the left stats frame.
Updated all zones to not have any ZCO.
Changed the text on the arenas page to be a little more informative.
New Arena Feature! The betting arenas have had little use lately, and we'll do a few things to help that. First, we've added
a "NGC Bonus Prize." This prize money will grow over time in unused arenas. The longer it sits without a duel, the bigger the prize gets.
Winning a duel in that arena will earn you this bonus prize on top of normal earnings.
Removed the "Tips" section from the comms page. That hasn't been used in a while.
Due to much player abuse, we have had to institute a new rule regarding your surrender rate. You may no longer change your
surrender rate any time you like. You may only change it if your empire has not fought (attack or been attacked), other than pirates,
in the past 7 nevdays. This will prevent manipulation of surrender rates during wartime to "escape by surrender" with your best mechs
when, in the middle of an attack, things turn against you.
12/05/04
Fixed a bug that was preventing players from viewing the mech list.
Fixed a typo with an error on the transfer money page that was in itself creating another error.
Fixed a bug with resurrection related to the ability of all logins to resurrect all people.
Fixed a bug with some weapons not showing properly on the Parts page.
The Level 1 Scientist class benefit of reduced research facility costs has been updates. It is now a full 50% discount, as originally
proposed, instead of the 25% discount recently implemented.
Additional cosmetic changes were made to the Zones page.
Removed ZCOs (zone commanders). The ZCO system was an original attempt at allowing an emperor some control over other players
who had logins to his empire. This system has long since been supplanted by other systems such as the Login Permissions and Allowances.
The needless information on the Zones page for viewing and allocating ZCOs has been removed. This has several benefits. First, the page
is much more viewable in lower resolutions. Secondly, the purpose and function of the page is more clear. Third, the page loads MUCH faster,
which is particularly important for larger empires.
Updated critical damage to IDF weapons to be easier to repair.
Fixed a problem where mercs attacking pirate zones were often seeing zone 0,0 as their target when using the large "attack zone" button.
Fined a level 6 empire $1 billion for creating new empires to use to throw arena duels and abuse market trades to generate
additional funding for his main empire.

MPOGD Bonus: Every month a few people write in to claim that they did not get the MPOGD bonus and they should have. The reason I am
finally writing this is because EVERY eligible empire (level 1+) gets the bonus every month. The number of empires that should be affected is
tallied beforehand and verified with test queries. Then after the bonus is awarded the number of empires affected is re-checked against the test
queries. All the numbers add up. So please, if you are level 1+ we promise...you got the bonus. Please do not write in a help ticket asking. Thank
you to everyone who votes on MPOGD.com every month. We greatly appreciate your support.
Fixed a second bug with infantry deaths that was preventing them from dying properly.
Fixed a bug with infantry logging that was causing an error in battle.
Cleaned up some text with merc contract pop-ups.
Fixed an ABR error associated with new infantry destruction logging. ABR is working through the backlog.

NevCon: New Hampshire! 14 people have already signed up for this event not including game admins. We look forward to seeing you
all there. Please see the NevCon section of the Admin tab for details. Let Chet know what you need to be able to come!! He will make it happen!!
Any login may now resurrect any dead person. Previously you could only resurrect people that were killed while claimed by your
login.
Dead People and Resurrections: The game has been updated so that ALL dead people are resurrectable so long as they have 1
skill below 4. It is assumed that nobody at skill 4 or worse would be resurrected and their entry is erased. Additionally, a 1 Nevyear
time limit has been placed on Resurrection. After 1 Nevyear the entry of the dead person is deleted and they are forever lost. People
have 2 weeks to resurrect people from their current lists before they are erased.
There have been a few reported cases where mercenaries forced their employers to surrender, or where upon returning zones the mercenary
surrendered to the employer. Please remember that you can return zones at any time as a contracted mercenary. If you return each city as it
is liberated from pirates, you never build up a big chunk of employer zones so the risk of creating a surrender (his or yours) is minimized.
It is important for both the mercenary and the employer to consider surrender possibilities while creating or fulfilling a contract.
The resource market is now timestamped and NASI will automatically remove any items listed for longer than 1 Nevyear at a 5% fee.
MPOGD! Thank you all for voting us in the top 5 again in November. $15 million or 15 Nevdays of income has been handed out to all.
Thank you for your support!
Fixed a bug that was applying 4x DOW costs if you had level 1+ as both Builder class and Merchant class. It is now correctly only charging
2x normal DOW costs if you have multiple infrastructure class points applied.
Scientist Class Level 1 class benefits/drawbacks have been implemented for the Scientist class. Assign class levels by clicking
your empire level on the left stats frame.
Awarded income for promotional code use for new empires. Thank you everyone who encouraged people to sign up using their promotional code.
Remember that anyone can create a promotional code on your Manage Logins page (in Empire Settings). If players sign up using your code, you can
earn nevcash for up to 6 months. The more players you sign up the more you will earn. Empires must be at least level 2 to generate income for
their promo code creator in this manner.
November DP drawing winner 2nd Nev Com Royal Guard©, level 12, was selected at random from the top empires of each level in the
Monthly War Rating contest and has been awarded 200 DP. Congratulations! Good luck to everyone in december.
Fixed an error that was preventing some company orders given by a battalion commander from registering in battle.
Fixed a bug that was causing some map errors last night.
