Much thanks to Shadowmaster for his updates and what not these past couple months.
Donation Subscriptions: Active subscriptions from this month have been processed. I realize that there are many that are behind. Make sure
you have ONE and only ONE recent ticket open about your subscription with "DP" in the subject and I will get to it as soon as I can
(this week).
Kicked the training program back into action after an error and you should see all the results from any battles/training you've had
or done.
Arena sim reported as down but appears to be working ok to me. Please report further problems.
Fixed a long standing but overlooked error with heat sinks being partially repaired.
5/11/2009
LC movement is now working. It was part of the caching issue as well.
I did a bunch of account auditing to get the DP from the year end promo sorted and I believe I have gotten it taken care of.
Please do me a favor and CLOSE ANY OPEN TICKETS regarding this issue. If you are still having a problem please open a NEW ticket. Thank
you.
Overland movement is working properly but LC's are not. I am trying to figure out why and will post when I've sussed it out.
Fixed a caching problem that was preventing ABR from getting caught up properly. It is now finishing it's backlog.
Donation subscriptions were caught up. People who had subscriptions from January all got a substantial bonus. Unforunately the
first method I used to give the bonus essentially gave an "advance" on next month's subscription because my donation code is much
"smarter" than I remember coding it. It essentially self-audits and knows how much total you should have received at that point so
next month some of you will get less than you expected simply because you got a bunch of that DP this month. I redid the bonuses so that
you got an actual bonus as well as the "advance." Paypal subscribers were processed after I figured this problem out and so did
not get the "advance" but still got the bonus.
Restarted a number of applications that were reported as not working such as the unit scrapping program and such and rebooted some
that weren't reported just in case. They appear to be working properly. Rebooted the zone conquering program but it appears to be working
ok so I think the unresolved battles were mainly due to ABR being down. I was going to start it back up again late last night but I
thought that would be a bad time. ABR is now restarted and is working through a large backlog.

Most of the aforementioned cosmetic updates (rankings and such) as well as some more important ones like quests, soi updates and
market averaging should be working properly now. I think everything should basically be working now, though I have some questions about
a couple important updates that I will watch. As currently done it feels a little jerry rigged and I'm trying hard to get everything
done properly to avoid any possible future issues. This may entail some short future downtime and I will try to give as much notice
as I can before that happens.
The buildings project is very much still underway and I'm nearing completion but I want to make sure the rest of this stuff is handled
first. To those of you awaiting donation fixes and subscription updates please accept my deepest apologies and bonuses will be coming
your way for any that I missed or am more than a couple days late on.
Problems with Nevtime not progressing and techs not being hired/fired should be fixed. The Nevtime procedure should also fix all
the troop movement problems and numerous other related issues. There are certain other updates that are still not running, but most
of them are cosmetic. I am working as best I can to get those fixed but I'm still having some networking issues related to having to
the rebuild of the network. Thanks to everyone for their extreme patience and understanding. I know this has been a tough 10 days.
2/2/2008
The buildings update code is progressing but slow going. I am also trying to devise a way to test the pages and the updates properly before implementation
since some of the changes are to the most fundamental aspects of the income code and whatnot. It's a real pita.
There have been some issues with the processing of donation subscriptions this past month. If you have not received a subscription please open a
help ticket with the paypal email address that you use for the subscription, or specify that it is a direct credit card subscription and I will get
it resolved as soon as possible.
12/27/2008
Currently I'm totally reworking over a hundred pages, several programs and a number of other procedures related to buildings. The buildings
table has grown insanely out of control huge and the manner in which they are stored is inefficient. When I am finished reworking the pages and procedures
I will need to take Neveron down for at least a few hours while the database is altered and the changes implemented. I will give several days of
notice prior to downtime, though considering the number of changes that I need to make I do not expect this to be before next week, and it might not be until
after the holidays.

NASI CEO Urges Calm: The President and CEO of Neveron Arms Sales, Inc. urged calm today in the aftermath of the widening credit crisis that
is sweeping the planet. "Due to our inability to receive short term loans we were forced to firesale billions of Nevdollars in assets off planet. Our
newfound liquidity has ensured that our markets will soon again fill with goods here on Neveron. Please simply be patient while we sort this out, but
ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health-care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy, helping the -
it's got to be all about job creation, too, shoring up our economy and putting it back on the right track."
Soon thereafter NASI restored faith in the markets by making available an array of mechanized death vehicles.

Fixed a large timeout problem viewing mech readouts.
Corrected a procedure that removes units from arenas that no longer exist. It was not considering some cases and now should work correctly in all
cases. Simply view the unit readouts for the units in question and it will run the check for them.

Poll results are in and the results are a big help. While all the options got votes, it is clear that people are primarily concerned about war and
war related aspects of the game. The first option got far and away the most votes, with "tent cities" and "noobs" being tied for second place. There
were also numerous requests to be able to cancel wars, which further bolsters the support for the first option. It is clear that people are looking
for a more flexible and forgiving war system that allows them more latitude as the attacker and more options as the defender. I am going to set about
this as my primary task, in addition to slowly working my way through help tickets and fixing errors. Here is the option that most people chose:
9/22/2008
Thanks to everyone who has responded to the poll already. Since a couple people have already written this in, I should make clear that pirates are
not coming back. Neveron is a player vs player game and pirates pretty much contradicts that. Futhermore most of the infrastructure that allowed pirates
to work (and when I say work I mean lag and break half the time) has long since been modified or dismantled. I would much rather code infrastructure that
allows players to be pirates, such as attacking marketplace shipment convoys, than make some big player vs game system.
9/16/2008
Fixed an error creating arena simulations with the lance/company/battalion option.
Many players will find a new "Poll" section on their Empire page. The poll is open until next Sunday at 10 pm Arizona time and your votes can
be changed at any time until the poll is over. Please take some time
to look over the options and help better direct my efforts at improving the game. Voting is open to all players who have donated $5 or more in the last year.
As always, all players are welcome to submit suggestions and ideas via help tickets, however my most recent requests were not answered by many players
so I have constructed this poll as an easy way to gain input from the players who have shown the most interest and support in recent times.
Added some better error prevention code to a portion of the arena simulator which should help prevent some errors.
9/15/2008
The new kill stats logging appears to be working as well as it can. There are some inconsistancies but nothing that didn't exist previously, particularly
with losses not getting credited to the proper empire (which I doubt many people will complain about). I'd love to rebuild the whole damn battle code
from the ground up since its a tangled mess of old code and tacked on systems. There are unfortunately more pressing things to work on for now.
Ok well the kill stats went quicker than I thought for the basic stuff. I will be adding some new features there that the new system
efficiently allows me to do. About 2.5 million very large entries were removed from the database which is great. Battle has still been producing
some errors while I adapt the new system and my apologies for that. I am working hard to prevent them or ensure they are mended quickly.
Kill stats will likely not work for a day or two as I'm switching over to a system that doesn't involve storing millions of old kills which
is really dumb. The new system will compile stats numerically and delete the more detailed kill information after a month or so. This should
really help with database size and speed.
9/14/2008
Added a "New Paragraph" button to the help ticket system which will automatically add a paragraph tag to the end of your current message.
I can't read half of your help tickets because you guys copy and paste stuff into the text box and don't add any formatting. Hopefully this
will help people add tags where appropriate.
9/12/2008
Fixed a problem with units being destroyed.
9/6/2008
There will be some lag today as I handle some important database maintenance.
The training program is working through a small backlog of skill checks.
After a long week of total ISP incompetency I am back online.
9/5/2008
Sped up the battalion training processes so that they shouldn't time out anymore, or at least nearly as much.
FFA Refunds: The FFA cash spent on entrance fees during the server problem period has been refunded.
Server Update: The server was (finally) rebooted and everything is back up and running. If you have any problems please open a ticket.
Added an autocorrection for units that have been having errors after an arena duel or especially an arena simulator. An important entry
would go missing causing the player to be bumped to the units page whenever the unit name was clicked on. The procedure will now evaluate
to see if the most cause of this is the most common one, and then automatically correct it. If that is not the cause it will continue to
bump you to the Units page and you can simply open a help ticket as usual.
The server issues below include the FFA, arenas and LC movement so please do not use them. They will resolve when the server
comes back up.
Server Problems: I am aware of the ongoing server issues with war, the FFA and numerous other problems. This is all due to a server
locked up yesterday and I have been blowing up the phones at our ISP since yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately they are currently dealing with
their own crisis off-site and all the people that can actually help me aren't at their desks. I am continuing to annoy the crap out of them until
they finally do something. I hope that this will be resolved in the next few hours.

Reworked the mine program to better account for high resource prices. It was set up to respond properly, however with mine types that were
very rare it would react extremely slowly instead of more quickly, which was kind of dumb. Part of the retool was to properly add the expiration
for uncommisioned mines which had been done in an unreliable manner. The new system should be both reliable and also ensure that the expired mines
are made up for elsewhere in the hands of people who might actually use them.
8/25/2008
I closed hundreds of open help tickets en masse to weed out the ones that were no long relevant. If you have a ticket that was closed that
still needs to be addressed or has information in it that I should know, simply review the ticket to make sure that all needed information is
included and reopen the ticket. If you have ANY information as to how I can replicate the error, bug or exploit that is CRITICAL for me to know.
If I can't replicate the problem it is unlikely (though sometimes possible) that I can fix it.
8/13/2008
New Feature: There is now a heat calculator on the attack options page in battle when you have a mech selected. It will tell you
how much heat you have selected. Thanks to the chat room peeps for helping to debug.
Updated the error page to inform players regarding timeouts and deadlock during the 5 AM (Arizona) hour when Neveron runs many laggy procedures.
The database is heavily taxed during this time and timeouts are frequent and expected. Players should plan accordingly.
Corrected a number of mechs that were missing critical data fields likely from bugged similuators. Instituted a routine to automatically
correct this. If you have a bug viewing a mech readout after a sim please wait 24 hours before reporting it.
Apparently my fancy little browser detection code didn't work as well as I thought. I have updated it and it should work in most cases, and if
not it will show the old options including an updated link.
The show buildable zones option on the level 1 map is now a "toggled" feature meaning it will stay on until you leave the map or turn it
off. This means you can recenter the map and it will continue to show buildable spaces. The link to toggle this "on" also now shows from the
Terrain Info section after clicking any zone that you own.
8/12/2008
IE Tab: Due to player feedback I have made a link appear on the front page for new players to click that refers them to the IE Tab
website if they are using Firefox. This will hopefully reduce the "ugh I have to use IE?" factor for some new players. Madprops again to Mattbuck
for finding that thing.
If anyone has any issues with it or finds out there are vulnerabilities etc please let me know. I don't want to be recommending an application that
jacks up people's comps.
Empires on Noob Island: If you are in an empire level 4 or above, or are in a faction other than the Noob faction you need to remove
your zones from the island immediately. In a couple weeks I will be overhauling the code that should be preventing you from being there and
if you have zones/buildings/units on the island I will simply delete them. If you have a technical problem with moving off the island then
please open a help ticket explaining your situation.
Corrected the cleanup procedure for public mail that was not working with the new system. This should update tonight and will greatly
reduce loading time on public mail, especially for those who haven't bothered to clean theirs out. Public mails are automatically deleted
after 1 nevyear.
8/11/2008
Furthermore: Please be specific. Basically all aspects of the game has bugs associated with it one way or another. In many cases the "fix"
for bugs is to gut the system and code something new that works better. Asking me to "fix the bugs" or "fix the old stuff before doing new
stuff" doesn't really help me. Which parts of the game specifically are you having the most troubles with?
My Absence: I would like to boith apologize for and explain my recent extended absence. In May I moved a couple hours away leaving my
wife and infant daughter to move up the next month. My wife had become pregnant again and then began to miscarry right after I moved. She
was doing ok but at the beginning of June it became apparent that the pregnancy was ectopic, meaning that the embryo has implanted in one
of her fallopian tubes instead of her uterus. This became apparent because her tube ruptured and she came within about 30 minutes of dying from
internal bleeding, which surgery was able to stop. I had to go back home to take care of her and my daughter, and then move them both over the
next couple weeks to our new home. Ensuing weeks were essentially sleepless between tending to my daughter and helping my wife recover, who while
still breastfeeding couldn't physically lift our daughter for weeks. I had no idea that recovery from blood loss was so long and taxing, but
my wife is doing much better and getting stronger each day.
In any case tending to my family, moving and other real world responsibilities made it very difficult to afford any time for Neveron. I have
since fulfilled my responsibilities, my wife is doing better and I have reworked my schedule so that I will have much more time from here on
out. I have some exciting new ideas for our markets and to enable some added layers and depth to the game while cleaning up a lot of the
problems. I am also very interested in player input as to what needs fixing, new ideas and what I should focus on first. Please feel free to
open a help ticket on any of these matters. Please, please, please don't take it personally if I do not respond or give a curt response. I have
a massive backlog of tickets and just because I am not verbose or responsive does not mean that I haven't read your ticket or taken
your idea seriously.
Player HTML Formatting: A reminder that html tags in unit, person or empire names that are not closed or destroy formatting on other pages can and will be changed
without notice. In the case of units they will simply be destroyed. I do not have time to police your html and I will fix any problems in
the most time efficient manner available to me, which is typically just deleting the offending entry from the database.
Firefox/Mozilla: Like many of you I'm sure I use a non-Explorer browser for a lot of my personal web surfing. Mattbuck has informed me
that http://ietab.mozdev.org/ has an application that (allegedly) makes IE-only sites Firefox compatible. If people want to give it a go
and give me feedback on how well it works that would be great. If there are some minor tweaks that need to be made to enable it to work properly
I'd be happy to look into it.
Unprocessed Donations and Subscriptions: If you have a donation from June or July that has not yet been processed please open a help
ticket with "Donation" in the subject, the month of the missing donation and whether it was a credit card or Paypal donation/subscription. If
it was a Paypal donation please include your Paypal email address. These donations will receive a significant boost to their DP reward
for their tardiness.
