Much thanks to Shadowmaster for his updates and what not these past couple months.
Donation Subscriptions: Active subscriptions from this month have been processed. I realize that there are many that are behind. Make sure
you have ONE and only ONE recent ticket open about your subscription with "DP" in the subject and I will get to it as soon as I can
(this week).
Kicked the training program back into action after an error and you should see all the results from any battles/training you've had
or done.
Arena sim reported as down but appears to be working ok to me. Please report further problems.
Fixed a long standing but overlooked error with heat sinks being partially repaired.
5/11/2009
Internet Explorer 7.0+: The Neveron Map is not currently compatible with this version of IE. We are investigating and will be making
changes as soon as possible. We advise players to not upgrade to this version until we have made the necessary changes, which will hopefully be by the
end of May. Thanks!
Started up 2 more SOI update robots to speed up the updating.
Fixed a bug building technology complexes and training centers. 5 empires that had gotten free TC's were charged for them.
4/30/06
SOI Updating: A low-usage program has been started that updates SOI in zones that have not yet been updated at the rate of about
30 per minute beginning with the largest empires in the game and moving downwards. To shut the game down and update them all at once would
likely take between 5-8 hours, so we are reluctant to do it. The method implemented doesn't create any extra server drag and no downtime. We
expect that it will update all zones in all empires
over the next 10 - 12 days. If there are zones that you need to update right away because you need to see a proper zone garrison number, then you can
simply click on the zone in question and update it. Once all the zones have been updated once, SOI will only update if you click on the zone manually.
This means that if you enlarge a city or build a new one, you will need to check the zones in that area that are not currently under your SOI to see if
they have changed hands.
Fixed an issue with rehiring infantry soldiers from the rehire stored people page.
4/29/06
Made the red dot on the map designating qhich zones have not yet been updated uniform. They had been a different size in enemy zones.
Unit Excel Spreadsheets: Those of you sending in lists of units....send in the units you wish to SCRAP! Any units you send us
back WILL be scrapped immediately, so please check your lists!
Fixed a remnant of an earlier system with Noob Island claiming that was not letting some people claim a zone there if they had existing
buildings elsewhere.
Fixed a visual bug for empires with 0 or near 0 civpop when displaying their land costs on the Finance page.
Fixed a critical error in noob island claiming for a process that was added late the other night and wasn't working properly. Also added
a process to move vehicles from your armoury to and from the Noob Island. NO OTHER PARTS will be moved and are permanently lost.
4/27/06
Noob Island Claiming: Fixed a bug with empires not seeing the proper options to move to or from the Noob Island.
If you do not wish to participate in a quest you can use the Deny Quest button to stop it from giving you a message in the future.
Restarted the zone conquering program.
4/26/06
SOI Transition Period: Beginning Monday, May 1st we will start a review of help tickets opened by players requesting assistance because
of zones that are at higher risk due to SOI changes. We will be reviewing each of these on a case by case basis. Our intent is NOT to allow people
to move any and all peripheral cities into a tiny core, merge cities or anything of the kind. Cities far away from your main zones have always
been at higher risk for attack and unless they compose a very large part of your empire, they are simply peripheral cities that are harder to
passively protect with these new changes. Players should either build them up, negotiate for space around them, build other cities nearby to
expand their SOI, sell them to nearby empires, burn them for cash and move on, or simply settle with the fact that they will need to more actively protect
them. Remember, anyone who takes the zone from you with the new SOI Garrison Rules will have no easier time defending it than you will unless they
own additional cities nearby. Anything that can be taken can be taken back.
The players that we WILL be helping are ones for whom a significant portion of their empire (say a level 5 with one city that is now drowning in a
larger empire) is affected, or for whom a donation related item is adversely affected. These players may qualify for a DP credit, a full price
city burn or other assistance as we see fit. Again, we will not be rearranging people's whole empires, only very significantly affected zones that
are critical to the empire in question.
If you believe you fit the above criteria, please open a help ticket that references the city in your empire you would like us to consider. Beginning
Monday we will cycle through them and begin evaluating how to assist each player.
Fixed the problem with the map showing all black in some empires.
Important Update for Small Empires: Empires level 0-3 that are Unfactioned or in the Noob faction can now
move back to the Noob Island if they so choose. To do so, you can not be at war and your units must not be in battle. Claim any zone there for free,
and all of your existing cities will be burned at normal returns, your units will be moved to your new zone for free and you can start anew with all
your cash.
If you wish to leave the island, you will need to claim zone off-island which will cost the standard amount and also burn your cities and
move your units. When moving OFF the island, cities are reclaimed at roughly 90% of full price instead of the standard 40%-50%.
This, along with a couple other coming restrictions, should prevent the Noob Island from being abused while still allowing it be a safe haven for smaller
empires running from encroaching empires or needing to improve their skills after a rough war.
The noob islands centers around zone 500, 1100.
Map Bug: Some empires are experiencing a map bug where their map is totally black. We are working on the issue, but you can easily remedy
it by clicking any of the Zoom map levels (1-4). This appears to permanently fix the problem in that empire.
You can not purchase zones on the Noob island if you own any buildings elsewhere in the world. Empires that had purchased zones there have had
their money refunded and zones deleted.
The promo teaser on the Empire Data page now lists the number of players you have signed up with the new promo system.
Fixed a visual bug on the Under Construction section of the zones page that was showing the buildings queued incorrectly.
AI Stability: We have found a major problem with AI that was causing it to frequently crash. AI should be much more reliable now and
we are monitoring it for any other stability issues. AI has not crashed since yesterday.
SOI Update If you have the option to view SOI active on the map (click the red SOI button) then zones that have not yet had their SOI
updated will show a red circle in the upper right corner of the zone. Simply click the zone once and the SOI will update. If your zones or
empires near your borders are colored red, you may need to change the zone color for the red circle to show.
If your Garrison Limit seems low, then it is likely because you have not yet updated the SOI for zones in your area OR it is simply that you do not
have SOI control of all the zones that you own. Several people who have opened tickets have clearly not yet looked at the SOI version of the map.
Just because you own a zone does NOT mean you have SOI control of it and thus will NOT be able to count it towards your Garrison Limit. Only
zones that you both own and have SOI control of will count towards your garrison limit.
New Feature: As previously announced you can now pull people out of storage for a cost of $0 via the Unassigned People page.
The computer with the conquer zone program on it rebooted due to automatic updates. The program has been restarted and war should work properly.
We are working on moving the program to a more stable computer.
4/25/06
Thank You and Congragulations! Thank you to Sandol who has already submitted 9,000 units to be scrapped. The scrap program has been
working on it all day and is only 50% done, but Sandol has already slipped into the #3 spot on the Top 100 list by units. For acting
so promptly and making a great effort Sandol has been awarded 500 absolute morale.
New Empires: New empires now start on a new 250 x 250 island. It is small, square and ugly but we will clean it up in the days ahead so it
looks like a proper continent. Empires over level 3 are not allowed to claim zones there.
Building Construction: Building construction now maxes out at 25 buildings that can be built per zone at any given time. You will STILL
be able to queue up as many building as you'd like, but only 25 of them will build at a time. With the click of one button (provided on the Empire Data
page whenever buildings finish or by viewing the Buildings page in that zone) you will roll your queue up to the next ones queued to be built. This should
give empires time to see other empires encroaching on their SOI and respond by either A. Attacking, B. Hiring a merc, C. building their own cities to
defend their SOI or D. allowing the city to be encroached upon. I suppose you could use diplomacy and work out a deal with the offending empire, but
who uses diplomacy? Buildings currently under contruction will complete normally, but new ones will be queued.
Towers are now put in your armoury instead of scrapped when a zone is purchased from you.
While Garrison Limits count the 4x4 area around your selected zone, SOI can reach far beyond that radius if unopposed by enemy cities.
Fixed a visual bug that made it appear that you could claim active mines though actually trying to claim them wouldn't have worked.
Water Zones: For the next 1 week you will be able to claim water zones within your SOI for $10 million, 1/10th the normal price. This will allow
players with islands or near coastal areas to claim zones around their cities if they so choose. Zones claimed in this manner will NOT be buildable.
SOI zone purchasing is not a temporary feature, it is permanent.
Purchasing zones now costs $1 million, but only nets $200k for the original owner. We had considered other options but decided this was the best for now.
SOI Zone Purchasing: You may now buy non-city zones within your SOI for $1 million. The $1 million is paid directly to the empire you are
buying the zone from. Towers in the zone are scrapped, with the parts being delivered to the owner's salvage zone. Non-towers are moved to the owner's
primary salvage zone, or largest zone if they do not have a primary salvage zone flagged. You may purchase zones from any empire that you are NOT
at war with and share an adjacent zone with.
Note: People will notice that their SOI, especially around a cluster of large cities, will stretch for quite a distance unless opposed by enemy cities.
Proximity is the single most important factor in determining SOI, so border towns are an extremely effective way of preventing someone elses SOI from
encroaching on your turf.
To purchase a zone in your SOI, click the zone and then click Terrain Info. If you are able, the option will appear.
Updating SOI: SOI is only updated if the zone in question has been clicked on since SOI was implemented. If you think your zone garrison limits
are not as high as they should be, simply click the zones around your turf and you will update the SOI and thus the Garrison Limits. While Garrison Limits
are NOT in effect, you can view them for any zone you own on the map. MANY people have not yet updated their SOI properly, and thus are seeing improper
Garrison Limits (*cough*...Xibious...*cough* *cough*). If you believe that your SOI may have changed, perhap because you built or destroyed a city,
enlarged or shrunk an existing one, or conquered new cities, you will need to click the zones in question to update the SOI. EACH ZONE MUST BE CLICKED
INDIVIDUALLY. A little tedious but we have sped it up.
Sped up the zone claiming process significantly.
Unit Spreadsheets: Added a link to an excel spreadsheet for the top 6-15 empires by units to help them reduce unit numbers more easily.
You can look over these files and send these spreadsheets back to us with the units that you want scrapped and we will scrap them for you. Email
them to NeveronContact@hotmail.com
Fixed a problem where your mech pilot might get more than 1 skill penalty if the page timed out while trying to assign him to a salvaged mech.
You can now refresh the page on a timeout and not risk a second penalty. Unit caps should help improve performance here as well as the number of
units in the game drops.
Fixed recurring primary key errors wen assigning mech salvage a new pilot.
Added a proper money confirmation box to he empire funds transfer option.
Deleted 350,000 unneeded entries from the people table which will reduce 'log file full errors' as well as increase performance.
Massively sped up he Existing Pilot option on the new mech marketplace. Large empires were continually timing this out, and now it should load
very quickly.
People in training can no longer be 'condensed.'
4/24/06
Fixed a bug on the mech marketplace that was showing units you owned that were in transit or battle.
Performance Enhancing Feature: there is now an option on the Unassigned section of the People page for empires to condense their unassigned
people into a much more efficient method of storage. Currently about 750,000 of the 2.6 million people in the game are unassigned which is totally
out of control. Having that many unassigned people clogs up the database and drastically slows the loading of any page involving unassigned people.
Large empires often encounter timeouts on these types of pages. By simply clicking 1 button on the Unassigned section of the people page, you can
put these soldiers into storage. Their best skills are saved so that you can use them again at a later date, whenever you wish. You will also no
longer pay upkeep fees for them once they are stored.
Soldiers with higher than average mults (donation option) will NOT be stored this way as it destroys their multipliers. You don't need to fear losing them,
the game will automatically ignore them.
The feature to pull the soldiers back out of storage will be added tomorrow. We urge ALL empires with more than 50 unassigned soldiers, and especially
the larger empires who have hundreds or even thousands, to use this feature as soon as possible. You will find performance greatly enhanced on related
pages if you do.
4/23/06
New Mech Market Feature: The Mechs section of the Marketplace has gotten a much needed facelift. Many junk code elements that were creating bugs
and causing plenty of lag were removed from the mech purchase page. Most importantly, you now have the option to select what pilots will go into
your mechs. The default setting upon loading the page will buy for a new hire/draft at skill 8/8, but you can easily select the Existing Pilot (a pilot
currently in a mech) or Unassigned (any unassigned soldier) options and see a list of your soldiers and their mech preferences (if they have one).
A confirmation message displays your skill choices and then the purchase begins.
The purchasing process has been revamped to eliminate all issues with skills and/or BV not being set properly. Additionally, if you are buying a
new mech for a soldier that is currently in a mech already, the NEW MECH will stay in the existing Lance/Company/Battalion and the old mech will
become unassigned. This means that if your battalion commander's mech becomes gimped and you want to get him a new one, they will remain battalion
commander in their new unit.
You can no longer buy mechs for soldiers that are currently in vehicles or infantry units. You will need to scrap/demobilize them and then use the
"Unassigned" option to get them into a mech.
Updated every mech pilot in the game to ensure that they had the proper mech preference set.
4/22/06
Fixed some old text on the "How does the mech market work?" link.
Removed some code from the attack pages when attacking an undefended zone that resulted in double conquer messages and some other redundant queries
that were slowing things down a little.
Fixed a bug where if one DOW was not cancellable on the Wars page, then all others after it wouldn't be either.
Fixed a bug that was giving new private mail notices when they were inteded for other empires on that same login. Changes have been also made
to speed up these processes and reduce lag.
Initial SOI and Unit Cap Changes: After a huge amount of player feedback we have found lots of potential problems with the proposed systems
and made simple changes that shore things up significantly. Large numbers of players who are aggressive in their outcry against these changes
either don't want change because they don't like change or don't want it because they see how it prevents them from using the system in a way that
is advantageous to them personally. It is easy to understand why an empire with one big city where they live in relative immunity wouldn't want the
SOI and zone garrison changes to go into effect. Others are simply looking for opportunities to attack us personally. Players who have come to
us with legitimate concerns about these changes have been heard and we have made adjustments where necessary. Ultimately, these changes
are going to make the game more fun and more balanced for all players. Many of them sound complicated because they are new ideas, but in practice they
are very simple and require little effort to adapt to and utilize once implemented, that is part of why they are so attractive.
Because these are simple changes on our end that will require the most time to adapt by players, we will first be making the following changes to
see action on Monday, April 24th:
-SOI: The first element of this will be coded and players will be able to purchase, for $1 million, any non-city zone that is in their
SOI. The $1 million will be paid to the former owner and any units in that zone will be moved out. Towers in the zone will be scrapped and the
parts given to the owner of the tower. NO GARRISON LIMITS WILL BE PUT INTO EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. We are entering a transition period only, where players can
adapt to these new changes and we can all see their effects.
-Unit Caps: While there still is no 'final' unit cap set, we are leavin that to be determined over the next year, the initial unit cap of 20,000
units will go into place. Empires currently over 20,000 (there are only 5) are exempt from the effects of unit caps until they get down to the 20,000
mark. We have given many tools for them to use to achieve this goal and we are open to suggestions on how to make this even easier on them. If no
progress is made then they will forefit their exemption for the unit cap and perhaps begin to face harsher penalties for exceeding it.
We realize that change in the game is always troublesome and creates anxiety, but it is also exciting and creates something new in which players
need to adapt and learn. We are making these changes because we believe it will make the game more player friendly, find a good balance between
attacking and defending and ultimately lead to more active war instead of endless city sieges or speedbump stalling. We will be continually soliciting
player feedback and all constructive comments and questions will be considered. For those who only know how to give 'feedback' in the form of insults,
jeers and sarcasm, we will happily ignore you. You have an opportunity to be part of the creative process, but your negativity is not welcome.
These are the only changes related to the recent updates that we plan on making in the next 2 weeks. Thanks to all and good luck!
Changed city destruction to run in a manner that should significantly reduce the number of timeouts and general network errors. It also now
gives cash for incomplete/damaged buildings based on how damaged they are.
4/21/06
SOI Effects: SOI is currently doing nothing except calculating what WOULD be your garrison limit for each zone and making crosshatchings on
the map. There have been numerous SOI related help tickets claiming that their zones 'switched sides' without reason because of SOI. This is
simply not possible.
NevCon Room Registration: We need names of people who have registered for a room with us for Nevcon to provide a guest list for the
hotel. We can not reserve your room without a name! Please go to the NevCon page and register your name immediately!
Players who are attending the NevCon but do not need a room! We still need you to register so that we can plan for your arrival! If you do not
register you may not be eligible for certain door prizes and the all-treasured Convention Mech! PLEASE REGISTER so we know that you are coming!
Registration is free!
Empires With More Than 20,000 Units: Another way to delete unit en masse is to edit the Excel file we have provided for you and send it
back to us with the units that you would like to delete. This will save a lot of time on your part as well as a lot of clicking. Simply
email the list to NeveronContact@hotmail.com and we will be happy to help you out. We aren't going to be double checking it, just dropping the
list into a process that will scrap them all so please make sure that any list you send us you contains the proper units!
SOI Updates: Every zone you own needs to be updated manually as it is currently set to calculate a proper SOI. If your SOI in a particular
zone seems incorrect, then you probably need to click all the zones you in that area, because some or many are not updated. Simply clicking each
zone is all it takes. We will likely do one huge update before SOI effects truly take place to make sure that all zones are done, but that
will require shutting the game down for possibly several hours. For now, simply manually update your zones if you wish to see the proper Garrison
Limits and SOI radii.
SOI Map Toggle: You can now toggle the SOI cross-hatchings on and off on the map. The default setting is "off" but once you turn it
on it will stay on for the rest of your session unless you turn it off. This should save some visual confusion as well as a little bit of
server power since you don't always need to see SOI markers.
You can now scrap units from the map in bulk by selecting the checkbox next to their name and hitting the Scrap Units button.
Finished more updates to the Zone Info page on the Map that segments information for all zones. This should significantly reduce the amount of
superfluous queries loaded when that page is run.
As many people have probably noticed the Map is using a different method of creating the cricles representing cities. It now uses actual
building size instead of number of buildings, so a city made from 50 Cf level 1 buildings will appear much smaller than a 100 CF level
4 bulding city.
Made info while viewing zones belonging to other empires on the map option. You will see a War Info and Terrain Info link you can select to
view the related information. This should reduce a lot of queries that are being run when they are not needed, and reduce a lot of the load on the system.
There is no need to load terrain info or war costs when you are just curious who own a particular zone, which surely happens hundreds or even thousands
of times per day.
Fixed some more issues with private mail notifications.
Clarified the difference between active and inactive subscriptions on the Subscription Management pages.
Fixed a hideous error that was preventing people from viewing salvaged mechs as well as no doubt creating gobs of lag.
4/20/06
Unit Caps: The 5 empires that are currently over the proposed 20,000 initial unit cap have been given links to excel spreadsheets with
some basic unit data on them. They also have an input box on their Units page that will alow them to view a unit by inputing its ID. You can easily
view the unit directly this way and scrap the unit. These 5 empires will be able to scrap vehicles at no penalty to their skills or morale until they
are well below the proposed unit cap. Creating units will no longer give morale, and demobing units will still work in the same manner for these
5 empires. These empires may scrap units manually or using the queue and it will have the same effect. There is not currently a proposed date that this
cap would go into effect, but we wanted to give players who would be directly affected a running head start.
Cleaned out a big table to free up more space in the database and improve performance. Some people will miss a "You have new private messages"
notification.
Downtime Neveron will be down for approximately 30 minutes tonight from around 1:30-2:00 am PST while some database maintenance is performed.
More lag this morning as the destroyed units logs are repopulated.
4/19/06
Fixed an error with quests and the arena simulator starting properly.
Sphere Of Influence Update: Click here
to read this very important change proposal. It has been updated drastically from yesterday with MANY new additions.
There will be some extra lag today as the destroyed units logs are repopulated.
Fixed a problem with abandoning and merging empires on the empire list. This will work properly now.
4/18/06
Proposed Sphere of Influence Change: We just wanted to reiterate that NOBODY will LOSE ANYTHING during the initial crossover. You will
either be able to relocate cities or be compensated from the annexing empire for them. There is no rush to get this done and no models have been
completed yet for its change. We all have LOTS of time to look at the models, think this through and make changes as needed.
Destroyed Units: Logs for these are incomplete for the time being because of an update earlier today. This will be corrected shortly.
Sphere Of Influence (Proposed Change): Click here
to read this very important change proposal.
4/17/06
Added an autocorrection for null values on the resources page.
NevCon Vegas: This Tuesday at Noon Arizona time is the deadline for reserving a room with our special group rate! If you are planning
on coming you will want to register on the NevCon page ASAP!
Building: Click here. While
not as good as my original post, still the general idea. *shakes fist at Sarna for eating his original post*
Zone Conquering: The computer that the zone conquering program was on failed last night resulting in zones not being turned over properly.
We are sorry for this inconveience. Battles should be working properly now and all pending zones have been processed. Also added code to the
program to prevent zones from being run more than once, though some players may have gotten two conquer messages this time.
Fixed a rare error on the Battles page.
4/16/06
Promo Income: The promo money from the old old system was handed out today. People should get on board with the new prom system
ASAP! Get the word out!
Building CF: You can no longer bypass building construction by researching 150 CF buildings. Each technology allows you to build
in a certain CF range, so researching 150 CF will allow you to build 126 - 150 CF buildings, but nothing smaller than that. This applies for any
of the technologies of that type. Empires that have researched from the bottom up will clearly be unaffected, but those of you that have used loopholes
to bypass research will need to go back and complete the other research. This affects tower research as well.
Added an autocorrecting procedure to remove single and double quotes from zone names on the buildings page. This will correct issues people
are encountering with adding new buildings to the construction queue.
You may now only transfer an empire once every 90 real days.
You can no longer transfer empire control to logins that are using your promo code or if you are using theirs.
Added little "Copy" buttons to the Promo and Promo banner page to ensure that text and image links are copied properly. Simply press the Copy
button and it will automatically copy whatever is in the text box. You can then paste it to the page/location of your choice.
Fixed an issue where mines that had been sold on the marketplace were being protected by NASI for 30 real days instead of 30 Nevdays. Also
added notifications earlier in the attack process that this is an issue so that false attacks won't start.
War Rating Cheaters: The war rating of a small empire that had been 'farming' kills from a friendly empire has been set into massive negatives.
We will be looking into other cases of these types of abuses. If you can't follow the spirit of the rules then go play another game.
Fixed a rare error with conquering zones.
Restructured the login redirect to the updates so that it won't happen again when you refresh your browser.
Added two new levels of protection to the log out option.
4/15/06
Fixed a problem with conquering zones where the defender surrendered before the battle was won. This should be working properly now.
New Banner:
If people are interested in using this banner as a Promo Ad for Neveron please open a help ticket and we will make it available. Thank you
to Tzu-Theory for his boundless skill and creativity.
Added the skill of the selected unit on the default sill setting of the vehicle creation console to help prevent user error in creating
improperly skilled vehicles.
With the generous help of Klien a problem that was sometimes running the zone conquer things many times in large empires has been fixed. This was
resulting in overly-damaged buildings and cities.
Mandatory Updates: Seeing as I, Wayward Son, have answered 5 tickets in the past 3 days asking for features that have already been coded, as well as numerous
mails and messages about how to put promo codes into text and image links after having written like 15 updates about this in the past 2 days, I decided
to make it mandatory to read the Admin Updates every so often. When you log in, you will be automatically taken to the Updates page where you will
be subjected to, of all things, important information related to playing Neveron. Knowledge = power! Read up!!
Login management just got a lot easier. As you change secondary login permissions you will automatically be moved back to that login
on the screen so you don't have to manually scroll down and find the login you were adjusting to continue changing other attributes.
Massively sped up sending faction mails, especially to the NOOB faction. Previously sending a mail in the NOOB faction took a rediculously
long period of time and gobbled far too much server resources for such a simple task.
Added som extra protection against message crossovers. These should be essentially eliminated.
Removed a redundant query from the Comms page that was greatly reducing performance. Yuck.
Mail Text Editor: We are beta testing a Javascript html text editor that will allow players to more easily enter text that is formatted.
Click the Advanced Text Editor link on the Comms page to switch to this. It has many formatting, font and color options not otherwise easily available
and should especially help those not familiar with html code. The 1,800 character limt still applies, and this INCLUDES any 'hidden' formatting. For
instance while the word "Neveron" only has 7 characters, by making it Bold I use 7 extra characters because of the HTML tags needed. The text editor
hides that formatting on the screen even though it still sends it to the server. Heavily formatted messages will need to be much shorter to accomodate
all the extra formatting.
New Banner: Added a new banner/button type to the promo banners page which is a variation on the Neveron image at the new player/new empire
screen in various sizes. If you want the image in a size not provided please open a help ticket and we will help you out! Please remember that the
images are to be used to promote Neveron only.
Myspace: Thanks to everyone who has added us as a friend on Myspace!

Mechs moved to the dueling stable are now removed from their lance. Mechs currently in the dueling stable have been removed from their
respective lances.
New Donation Option: The instant move is back! You can move any unit to any zone that you own and does not have an ongoing battle
in it. Cost is 2 DP for mechs and 1 DP for infantry and vehicles. You can NOT move a unit that has been in battle during the previous 24 Nevhours,
so this is not a very useful tool for escaping enemies, more of a tool for getting to hotspots quickly. To use the option, simply click the
"Instant Move" button on the Units page.
Put an "Under Construction" sign on the company arena options.
NevCon Vegas: 34 players officially registered at the moment plus 3 admins = 1 serious raucous party. There are still rooms left to
reserve and you have until noon on April 18th to reserve one (or more!) at our special group rate of $99 for a bed or $198 for a room. That price
covers both Friday AND Saturday nights! See the NevCon page for details.
Recoded elements of the New Player sign-up page so that promo codes that were automatically entered from clicking a link
wouldn't be lost if there was an error with signing up.
Updated the banners section of the Promo page to include the "%20" spaces in the links. Any of the banners on that page are available
for you to use! Just copy the code that we provide and players will automatically input your promo code when they click a banner/button!
Flyers, Banners, Buttons and other Promotional Artwork: If you have, or wish to make, promotional material to help get the word out about
Neveron, we are always looking for high-quality graphics and flyers to make available. We track ALL advertising and if your work attracts players
then you will get Donation Poiints based on it's success! Open a help ticket if you would like to submit something.
Updated the promo flyer to use the new promo code information.
Promo Code Links: The pregenerated text and image links on the Promo page now automatically insert "%20" where spaces in your
promo code are to ensure complete URL compatibility. The new player page has also been updated to properly accept prom codes with spaces,
which it had previously been handling incorrectly.
Donation Problems Fixed: Corrected some errors with credit card donations and donation subscriptions related to yesterdays promo
code updates. Everything is working properly now.
Fixed a rare exception on the battalions page.
4/13/06
Added a "change since the beginning of the FWAR" counter to the Wars page.
New Promo Code Reward System: A new system for Promo Rewards has been implemented. The old system will continue to reap benefits
until the curent empires on it expire, but all new players that use promo codes will sign up under this new system. How it works:
The only current benefit is that you get a small percentage of any Donation Points used by players you recruit. While alone this probably won't be
much, if you recruit enough people it will quickly add up especially since you will ALSO be getting a percentage of any Donation Points spent by
the players that THEY recruit, and the ones below THEM recruit and so on. This has the potential to reap HUGE rewards for players that stay on the
hustle and get their Promo Code out to the public.
How to get your Promo Code out there: Check out the Promo link at the top of the Empire page. There are all KINDS of flyers, buttons,
banners and text links along with instructions on how to set them up so that anyone who clicks them will be sent to Neveron with YOUR PROMO CODE
AUTOMATICALLY ENTERED! Think about it, anyone who clicks the banner on your email or forum signature will automatically sign up with your promo code.
They get a bonus and you will get credit for it. It's a win/win!
Other good reasons to recuit: Neveron is a player vs player game. Without other players, well there won't really be anyone to sell things to,
or to bet on your arenas, or help pilot your battles. When you recruit a new player you automatically get a Diplomatic Relations treaty with any
empire they make, so you can keep in contact with them and help them progress. The strongest alliances in the game are ones where the players
that make up the alliance have a strong personal connection.
Artwork: If you have banners/butons/flyers or other advertising means that you would like to use to promote Neveron, we are happy to host
them for you! So long as you are ok with us making the artwork available to other players to use as well, we will gladly store it on our servers.
If lots of people are using your art to successfuly recruit new players, we will give you Donation Points!
Promo codes will now only give bonuses for empires made in the first 3 real months after the player signs up.
New Donation Subscription Benefits: We are pleased to announce new subscription benefits. This affects new subscritions and
subscriptions currently ongoing. As previously posted, if you have passed one of these thresholds and not gotten your benefit, it WILL be awarded
next time around. Benefits are awarded on the following timetable:
-2nd Month: 50% discount on one (1) donation Repair Bay
-3rd Month: 5 bonus DP; one (1) donation Technology Center for 40 DP
-4th Month: Discount on either Good Gunners OR Exceptional Gunners
-6th Month: one (1) free Resurrection every month for the the life of the subscription
-9th Month: one (1) free Instant Mech Repair every month for the life of the subscription
Remember, you can only get benefits on one of your subscriptions. Starting multiple subscriptions to try to
get multiple benefits (like TC's and the like) will NOT work. Thank you to the nearly 100 players that have active subscriptions! We appreciate your
continued support!
Fixed another issue creating new empires without a promo code.
Donation Subscription Benefits: Fixed a MAJOR problem with the awarding of donation subscription benefits. Any benefits that should
have been awarded and have not yet been will be corrected when your next subscription is processed. We are terribly sorry and thank you all
very much for your continued support!
NevCon Registration: Players who registered but did not reserve a room or send in money can cancel their registration if they need to
reregister with a room reservation.
Fixed errors accepting merc offers.
Fixed an error with accepting merc contracts.
Fixed an error creating a new login without a promo code.
4/12/06
AI Crashes: While AI does autorestart every few minutes, there has been a fairly frequent bug causing it to crash every so often. We believe
to have fixed this problem which should result in a much more consistant and stable AI.
Login Security: Fixed a problem where people were, very rarely, seeing the wrong empires as their login choices.
Help Files: We have updated some of the help system code to allow us to properly hotlink help files from specific pages so that it will
be easier to get relevant help to the task at hand. This means that our need for good help files is at an all-time high. We will be posting
better instructions on how to write help files in the next few days, but for anyone who takes a few minutes to figure it out it isn't that hard!
We offer DP for help files that are approved for use and you continue to get DP every few months so long as the help file is still up to date and
clear. Help files should have brief overviews of the system/feature/page they are for followed by detailed instructions so that there are two levels
of help available, one for those who need nitty-gritty details and one for those just looking to skim for basics.
There is now a 50% chance that a building will be destroyed if it is at 0 CF (unfinished) when a zone is conquered. Remember that attacking
zones that are under construction completely negates the construction.
Fixed some issues with setting allowances on certain people in rare cases.
Deleted about 50 merc contracts that were with empires that no longer exist and updated the deletion processes to clean out such contracts
in the future.
NevCon Vegas Room Reservations: We will have a cutoff date of noon (Arizona time) on April 18th to book rooms through us. If we
do not have your cash by then, you will not be able to book a roomat our group rate and you will need to make your own arrangements.
NevCon Vegas Room Reservations: There are only a handfull of rooms left! If you are interested in booking rooms through us at a special
group rate please sign up as soon as possible! There are a couple of people who began making reservations but have not sent in their money.
If you do not show on the NevCon registration page as having a payment confirmed, then your room is NOT reserved and we need to get money from you
to properly confirm it. Remember, players who book through us get 10 DP per bed as a sign-up incentive. Thanks to EVERYONE who is coming next month.
It is shaping up to be a rocking party!
Cleaned up the donation subscription rewards page a bit.
Promo codes now affect an entire login when a player signs up with one, meaning that player's login will be forever linked to the promo code that
they entered. This will allow for better tracking and longer-term bonuses for players who refer other players.
Fixed some build time and cost calculation problems with completing unfinished buildings as a level 2 builder.
Log Out Issues: Added another layer of security to the partial log out option. If this does not work this option will be removed. Please report if you continue
to have problems.
New Promo Code Infrastructure: If you have a promo code you will want to switch it over to the new login-specific system. We are
changing everything from being empire-specific to login-specific, so you will need to pick one promo code for your login and that will be the one
that you hand out. Future benefits will be given to your logins, not a specific empire. The old benefit system will stay in effect until they all
expire. IF YOU DO NOT UPDATE YOUR PROMO CODE YOUR CODE WILL NOT BE USED IF NEW PLAYERS SIGN UP WITH IT. The code may be the same as it is now.
Promo Codes: We are looking at overhauling the promo code system to make it more widely used and used for the purpose that it is intended.
Any ideas on what benefits to give for getting people to sign up with your promo code are welcome. Remember that it needs to reward players for attracting
other players, particularly players who play for a long period of time. It must not be abusable by simply creating faux empires with your promo
code and should reward the player who attracts new players AND helps them succeed. Feel free to open a help ticket if you have some ideas!
Added a self-correcting process to clean out login permissions for empires that no longer exist and were preventing some people from creating
new empires.
4/11/06
Messages: We have begun a massive, tedious project that will make all the messages in the game empire-specfic. There will no doubt be
some issues here and there. Feel free to open tickets if you encounter problems. There will be instances where messages get reversed, for instance,
such as message that you have sent someone money when you actually received it. We hope to keep these to a minimum and ones that occur will be
fixed promptly. In the end it will result in a faster messaging system as well as messages that do not cross from empire to empire on a single
login. We will also be able to send battle messages to you even after you have left battle, so you will no longer wonder what happened the
last phase of battle. Messages will also be time-dependant, meaning that they will not be deleted the moment they are viewed which will result in
far fewer, if any, missed messages and thus an overall better gaming experience and better information delivery.
Completing buildings now no longer charges you to complete the whole building. You simply pay a straight percentage of how much damage was done.
Worked through what was last of the zone conquering issues. Things should be nominal now. Sorry for the hassle!
Fixed a problem with duplicate entries being put into the conquer zone queue.
Fixed another error with conquering zones.
The incomplete buildings page now shows an estimated completion time at the current Build Points set so that you can easily see how long it will
take to complete the selected buildings at your chosen rate.
Added text clarifying good and exceptional gunners on the Donate page. They do NOT affect piloting checks or physical attacks.
Fixed a problem that was hanging up the quests and probably the dueling simulator as well.
There is now a General Empire Funds selection set as the default for transferring Donation Points to empire funds. Too many people were
selecting a person that was not their emperor and then weren't familiar enough with the game to find the money.
You can now view units in your empire that have been destroyed by empirs that were deleted recently. Some people have been having problems
with this because abandoned empires are resulting in unviewable logs.
Sped up a slow process on the conquer zone page.
Fixed an error with the zone conquering program which was not running properly. The backlog has been worked through and all zones should be
resolved. This includes instinces of people getting surrender messages repeatedly.
Fixed an error with evicting faction members.
4/10/06
The tower creation page will now properly list Weapons as a needed part when they are a limiting factor in producing new towers. This was
merely a visual bug creating situations in which it would correctly say you could produce 0 towers but it wouldn't say why.
You no longer need 3 FULL companies to create a battalion, any 3 companies will do.
Surrender Plunder: Battles won in zones containing salvage parts will now award some of the parts to the victor when the zone is
won post-surrender. A small percentage of the parts are destroyed and the rest of the parts are left in the zone. Parts won are put into transit
to the victors designated primary salvage zone.
Fixed a problem with morale being repeatedly awarded in some rare cases after conquering big zones.
Buying items off the vehicle marketplace will now take you back to the appropriate weight class subsection of the vehicle market for easier
shopping.
Fixed a short lived error on the vehicle armoury page.
Fixed errors with the zone conquering page when trying to give messages to empires involved in a battle ending after the loser had surrendered. This
was messed up because of the recent login changes and was not always working correctly. It should give all logins in both winning and losing empires
an apropriate message now.
Fixed a rare error with the crawl.
Fixed an innocuous error on the vehicle armoury.
4/8/06
While most duel simulator mechs should be taken care of immediately after the duel is over, or at least within 3 hours, there apparently have been
some situation where they stick around. This should be corrected.
Shortened mail lengths to 1,800 characters since some players seem to still be having problems above that level.
A message should now appear when you can not declare war because you are a mercenary under contract.
4/7/06
Updated the Battalions page to display and allow for mobilization/demobilization in a similar manner to the Company pages.
Updated the Companies page to display and allow for mobilization/demobilization in a similar manner to the Lances pages.
Mobilizing lances is now much simpler and cleaner. You can select if you wish to mobilize or demobilize and mobilization times are NEVER
reset once a unit is mobilized the first time. This means that mobilizing a lance that already has one or more units that have been mobilized
will not reset their waiting period to 30 Nevdays, but instead simply mobilize all the unmobilized units. The status of that lance will now be
properly update to show if it is not mobilized, partially mobilized or fully mobilized.
Added mobilization status to the lance details page so you can easily see which units are mobilized in that lance.
4/6/06
New Feature: Logging out will now bring you back to your empire list so you can pick a new empire to enter. You can log out
completely from a button on that page.
Promo award money was awarded including all the awards from last month.
All empires may now give other logins permission to enter their empires regardless of level. You can give existing logins permission to
enter your empire via the Login section of your Empire page.
Fixed a visual bug related to some modifications made to accomodate foreign browser settings that made it look like you were being overcharged
for buldings when it was actually displaying a number lower than it should have been.
Empires attacked in the last 10 Nevdays will show a notice next to them on your login list.
MPOGD: MPOGD money was given out for last month. Thanks to all who voted!
Adjusted the create arena page so that empires with zero or negative money can create an arena. If you have negative or zero money the
1 dollar will be bet for you.
Modified some admin tools so that we can more easily respond to help tickets without clearing them off of our lists.
4/5/06
NevCon Vegas! 26 people have officially registered for NevCon Vegas including some of the biggest names in the game!
You don't have to be well known to show up though. In fact, typically it is the relatively unknown people who wind up making the biggest impact
on these events because they have the most to gain by networking and interacting with other players. There are still rooms available but they are
getting filled up quickly! Please register and prepay by clicking the NevCon link on your Empire page.
We are looking forward to meeting you all!
Would the following empires please send a help ticket in with the information on their mergers.
The Black Hand
Knights of the Rose
1st Steel Giants
€írcínûs ƒëdërä†íøn
Thanks.

Fixed a bug with recycling that was treating all recycling projects as though they were happening in a repair facility regardless of the level
of recycling center in the active zone. People with recycling centers will find the returns and speed of their recycling projects greatly increased.
Logins with completed mergers will no longer show as though they have a merger request pending.
More mergers and lag today. Sorry
200 DP prize winner The March war rating winner was the level 5, Ascension.
He has been awarded 200 DP. To be entered into the monthly drawing, you
must end the month with the highest War Rating for an empire of your level, as listed in the top 100. The winners for every level are entered and one is
selected at random the first week of every month for a 200 DP prize. Good luck to everyone this month!
Neveron experienced some downtime last night because of the main database transaction log was full. I came in at 2 am to fix the problem.
I was very tired and when i was done fixing the DB, i forgot to restart a bunch of programs like ABR, AI, etc. I apologize for any problems people had because of that. Bill
