  • Much thanks to Shadowmaster for his updates and what not these past couple months.
  • Donation Subscriptions: Active subscriptions from this month have been processed. I realize that there are many that are behind. Make sure you have ONE and only ONE recent ticket open about your subscription with "DP" in the subject and I will get to it as soon as I can (this week).
  • Kicked the training program back into action after an error and you should see all the results from any battles/training you've had or done.
  • Arena sim reported as down but appears to be working ok to me. Please report further problems.
  • Fixed a long standing but overlooked error with heat sinks being partially repaired.

    5/11/2009

  • Two important faction war updates have been made. First, if two factions have both declared faction war on each other, when one wins both wars will be ended with a single event. In other words there is not double payments, and not two checks for faction removal when you lose a war in which both parties had fdowd. The second change is that you cannot fdow someone more than a set number ranks above or below you in the faction directory. This prevents a lot of abusive scenarios from occurring and ensures if someone fdows you, you can fdow them in turn.
  • Hardcoded that last bit -- even if your ranking on the faction directory is no longer within the given range of an enemy who has fdowd you, you will ALWAYS have the option to fdow them in return.
  • Factions that are actively recruiting members will now only be displayed in bold red for unfactioned empires.
  • Adjusted two formular having to do with faction creation, and determining how many empires can fit in a faction. You may have noticed that most factions have extra room in them. In short, there are more openings than available empires, or simply put, too many factions. Denser factions will result in more activity in each, a larger percentage of factions available for faction war opponents, and in general higher quality factions for everyone. The faction size bonus is no longer fixed, but varies with the number of factions in the game, and the average size of top faction leaders. More importantly, the minimum level at which you can create your own faction is no longer fixed either. Its a variable dependant on the total number of empire levels in the game, and total number of factions in the game. Currently, you must be level 7+ to create a new faction. Remember if you want to be a faction leader, you don't have to create your own faction. If you join an existing faction and grow to exceed the current faction leaders level, you may assume command of the faction.

    4/30/05

  • Faction Wars! A new feature has been added: faction wars. If you are a faction leader, you will see that when you view any other faction which is ranked no less than 10 below you you have an option to declare faction war (FWAR). If they are currently involved in other faction wars, your option to declare fwar may not be available, depending on the relative sizes of all empires involved.

When you declare faction war, you immediately pay the listed price. All unrelated DOWs (those not by/against your faction war opponent) both against and by your faction members are immediately cancelled. While in a state of fwar, no one may DOW your members except for the fwar faction members. Likewise your faction members may not DOW any other empires, except fdow opponents. All DOWs between fwar participants are free of charge.

A faction war continues until it is won. If 30 days go by with neither side winning, the fdow is automatically renewed at tremendous cost to the declaring faction leader. Please note that this means if someone fdows you, you don't need to win per se, as if you can hold out 30 days the other faction may well go bankrupt. You can win a faction war in two ways. First, surrendering their faction leader with a member of your own faction any time after the fwar is declared will constitute a victory. Secondly, similarly surrendering members of the enemy faction equal to or exceeding half their total levels is a victory.

When you win a faction war, the losing faction members each pay a sum equal to twice their standard DOW costs to the victorious faction leader. This can vary from a few million for the smallest factions to over 20 billion for the largest. In general, the amount won will be roughly equal to the amount you paid for your faction war declaration (assuming similarly sized factions). Additionally, each losing empire has a 10% chance of being removed from the losing faction. This includes the faction leader (in which case, another faction member must assume control of the losing faction). Assuming there is still room in the losing faction, members may be readmitted at standard cost at any time if desired. Finally, all losing members become surrendered to all winning members. There is NO surrender payments made for this "normal" surrender, and no land is transferred! It is merely to ensure a formal end to the war where neither side can attack the other for 30 days after the end of the war and fixing gaing/losses by both sides. This does not in any affect surrenders during an fwar where normal surrender payments are made, and normal land transfers are made.

While most wars will probably not be faction wars, this is another option for fighting large-scale engagements.

  • Fixed a rare problem with new empire creation.

    4/29/05

  • Deleted 22 empires and fined the empires Pandemonia, Believers Alliance, Heretic Legion, Kabal, and Blood Mercs-Op2 50 million a peice for cheating.
  • Fixed a login problem for some recently leveled-down empires.

    4/27/05

  • The Plainsman hovertank design has been changed from 9/13 to 9/14 movement rate. There is no general recall and older models already in service will not see any performance increase.
  • Fixed a problem with pirates repeatedly attacking empty zones without apparently winning.
  • Fixed a problem with declaring war.

    4/26/05

  • Fixed a bug that was reporting the wrong average price for resource prices thus improperly limiting sales prices.
  • The fine on battlemech mercenaries has been lifted. It is highly advisable that you are aware of who else is playing Nev on your IP, and what they are up to. If someone on your IP is engaging any form of cheating, they are putting you at risk for a fine or deletion.
  • Class level points will no longer be automatically deducted when you lose levels, unless the class level is higher than your actual level. For example if you are a level 4 empire, with class levels of 2/2 Warrior/Merchant and you drop to level 3, you will not lose any levels. However if that empire were to drop to level 1 you would become a 1/1 Warrior/Merchant.

    4/25/05

  • THE FOLLOWING EMPIRES ARE NOT TO BE ATTACKED: ATTACK=FINE, FACTION TEST ENEMY, and FACTION ADMIN TEST. They are being using in an ongoing bug project. Attacking them will result in fines/deletions. Don't send me any cheesy treaty requests either!
  • Cancelled an arena that had become stuck due to a timeout and accrued nearly $2 billion in bets. All bets have been returned to the empires that placed them and auto-correction measures will be coded to correct for these types of problems in the future.

    4/22/05

  • Fixed an error with the autocompletion of research when viewing the Research page.
  • New Feature: Most markets are now controlled by an average market price in addition to the current market low. This is to help create more stable markets and prevent massive dumping. The average selling price of most products over the past 30 Nevdays is calculated every Nevday to determine where the markets are at. Pricing is not allowed to go more than 70% under or 200% over that price. This means you can no longer drop 1 item at 70% the market low over and over to tank the price and then sell a stack of them for cheap. If a market sells out you will also not be able to more than double the market average when you set an item on the empty market. Since the averages are fluid it will allow reasonably rapid change in the markets without violent swings. Preliminary testing has gone well and there will no doubt be some kinks and adjustments made here and there. Some markets are not yet affected.
  • Deleted the empire Pimp Castle and 5 other level 0s on the same IP, which has been banned. Fined Battlemech Mercenaries, the highest level empire on that IP, 1 Billion. Language!
  • Faction size limits have been altered. For the most part, they have been increased, so factions can be larger. A lot of information to help determine how much space you have available in your faction has been added at the bottom of the faction details page. The faction directory also shows how much space is available in each faction. Negative numbers reflect that the faction is "over-full" while red number indicate that there is space available for new members.
  • Help System Update This is just a reminder that you can contribute your own articles to Neveron help system. A few times per year DP is awarded to people who have contributed help articles that are found to be useful. Help the game and help yourself by writing new articles!

  • Selling resources no longer shows decimals.
  • You can no longer undercut yourself on the resource market by less than 20%
  • You can no longer undercut yourself on the vehicle market by less than 20%
  • Fined the empire Pimp Castle 500 mil for a vulgar Nev mail. There have been a lot of language related complaints as of late, so lets go over this one more time. DO NOT SWEAR AT YOUR FELLOW PLAYERS. Anyone who swears at anyone else in Nev mail or battle chat will be fined or deleted if warranted. If you put inappropriate language in a unit name and it is reported, the unit will be destroyed. There is no situation in Neveron where curse words or degrading slang is necessary to convey your point.
  • Fixed a problem that was preventing arenas from beginning.
  • Added a login message for level 0 empires explaining that empires are deleted after 1 week of inactivity if they are level 0. Level 1+ empires are deleted after 1 month of inactivity.
  • Fined the empires Meusoc2, Nasguhl, Gorkenfort, and tism $100 million each for having zones with inappropriate names.
  • Icon Submission Contest! We are currently taking submissions for icons to substitute buttons on many of Neveron's pages. We need icons for vehicle/tower commissioning, mineral extraction (turning created items back into resources) and selling. The icons should all fit neatly in existing Neveron formatting (look at the vehicle or tower armoury). Icons used will earn their artist 50 Donation Points! Please submit entries to NeveronContact@hotmail.com Note that there is no completion date on this. We will always accept improved submissions.
  • Changed the text for arenas where time expires. These will no longer say they were a double-kill.
  • Fixed a bug where after time-out arenas units were sometimes ending up in a battle on a 100x100 map. If this happens again, they will be instantly moved home upon loading the map.

    4/20/05

  • Fined the empires OriginX and OriginZ (levels 8 and 5) $500 million each for dueling himself in the old arenas (same player). Again, there is no statute of limitations on arena cheating.
  • New Feature: Viewing your Research page when a topic has been completed (say from Treasure Points or Donation options) will now automatically complete that item and process it properly. No longer will you need to wait for the next daychange.
  • There are now links to the unit type page when arenas are in progress so that you can view the unit stats.
  • Automated the removal of expired mines from the marketplace where they were being sold.
  • Awarded 50 TP to the winner of each round of the tabletop tournament at the Dallas Neveron Convention.

    4/19/05

  • Fixed a bug that was making all kicks hit legs when kicking a prone enemy. Kicking a prone mech can hit any location.
  • Changed some code on the infantry armoury for delivering items when a zone has been under attack that should hopefully prevent items from being delayed for real years instead of just a few hours.
  • Fined Dutchy of Small, a level 11 empire, $5 billion for cheating in the old arenas. There is NO statute of limitations on cheating.
  • Towers under construction are no longer shown in the lance creation list.
  • Arena standings now provide links to the unit type so that you may view the readout of that particular kind of unit.
  • Stabled mech change: Stabled mechs no longer add to your empires BV, and are not used in any BV-related calculations (such as level determination).
  • Fixed a pk violation error with buying new people.

    4/18/05

  • Deleted an empire that was naming its zones to include profanity.
  • Fined Nargothrond, a level 5 empire $100 million for some really vulgar battle chat messages that were very offensive to the people reading them. This was not the first time he'd been reported for offensive language and upon reading the logs, we were pretty offended too. Please remember that if you don't know the person you're talking to, you should use language that isn't excessively profane.
  • Fixed yet another problem with units with apostrophes in their names.

    4/16/05

  • Fixed a bug preventing lances from enrolling in arenas.

    4/14/05

  • Fixed an ABR problem with units whose names ended in the apostrophe character.
  • New logging added to record how much a specific person has trained.
  • Fixed bugs moving most all objects between zones.
  • Fixed a bug that was preventing people from betting on the second lance of a two-lance duel.
  • Fixed an error with moving companies (and presumably other formations) that had apc's with infantry in them.
  • Upcoming change to dueling stable: Beginning next monday, april 18, units in the dueling stable will not contribute their BV toward your level, or appear in any bv totals for your empire. Total Battle Value is a measure of your empires ability to defend itself in a war and as stabled mechs are not capable of fighting outside of arenas, they should not count toward this limit. This change will also prevent small empires from stabling so many mechs that they have become "surrender proof" by never being able to lose half their total BV. When stabled mech BV is removed from the equation, they will no longer be able to hide behind "fake" bv. Likewise many small empires have stabled over 1000 BV and cannot be kicked out of a faction by suffering war losses. This is also unreasonable and unfair, and this practice will also be ended by the change.
  • Fixed a problem with not being able to decline treaties from people in your own faction.
  • We have answered over 20,000 help tickets since the system was implemented. Each probably averages 5 minutes, so thats 100,000 minutes of time we spent replying to help tickets and not improving the game. For those who are counting, thats well over 1600 hours spent on tickets. Assuming an 8 hour work-day, thats over 200 full days of work, or just about a whole year spent on these. You can imagine all the great improvements we could have added to the game if the frivilous tickets (WELL over half of them!) were never submitted. Please only send help tickets if it is very important and affects the game as a whole. Thank you.
  • Promo money has been given out!
  • Fixed a bug where if you had mobilized units in enemy zone when the owning empire deleted from inactivity, the zone was unavailable to claim until you demobilized your troops.
  • Fixed a variety of weapons that were not showing in the parts list properly.
  • Fined the empires OMG and OMGA each 250 million for dueling himself (same player).
  • Fixed a bug with the personal multiplier donation option.
  • Fixed a bug with moving towers and vehicles between zones.

    4/13/05

  • Added some new data for individual soldiers that will enable us to show some interesting training related information about them in the future.
  • Took some ZCO controls out of parts movement and made them related to the selling permission on the login permission list. If you can sell parts then you can move them between zones.
  • Implemented a more comprehensive logging system related to donation skill and multiplier enhancements.
  • Fixed 3 bugs pertaining to firing and committing physical attacks against units whose name ended in the apostrophe character.
  • Fixed a bug where sometimes, in double-kill arenas, it would not close properly.
  • Going into negative funding will no longer automatically change your maintenance rate to 75%. The change will occur if you have less than 30 times your daily income on hand. So if you're losing 3 mil a nevday, you won't automatically go to 75% unless you have less than -90 million.
  • Changed the 100-minute arena expiration code to kick people out of battle forcibly. This will prevent them from entering other battles they don't belong in.
  • Please remember you do not get free repairs if the arena lasts 100 minutes without a winner!
  • Fixed a rather annoying and frequent bug that was forcing battleplayers to load a battle many times before actually entering.
  • New mech! The HoC faction has added a new DP-only mech to the game, the AS7-HOC Atlas. This is a very powerful slow, non-jumping mech available for 65 DP.

    4/12/05

  • Fixed a rare payment bug with troop movement.
  • Corrected some informational text about SRM mk II weapons on vehicle data readouts.
  • Fixed a problem that was occasionally preventing people from attacking pirate zones, if they were zones that had belonged to a recently surrendered empire.
  • NGC Dueling Entrance Requirements Change The NGC will no longer allow skill 8+ units to duel. All participants must have a weapons skill of at least 7.
  • Fixed an infrequent ABR problem, where killed units were not logging properly.
  • Front page stats for who has killed the most in the past 24 hours is now only updated about once per 10 minutes to reduce lag.

  • The mineral stockpiling fees described last week are now in effect.
  • Fixed a bug with moving vehicles out of enemy zone. This will now work properly.
  • Salvaged mechs are now properly removed from their lance.
  • Fixed an error on the OMT claculator if you had no civpop.

    4/11/05

  • Fixed a bug causing an error on the process_attacks.asp page for certain units.
  • Fixed a problem with purchasing 0.5 ton jump jets.
  • Added text to the "you have surrendered" message to remind people that they can pull units from enemy zone when they are fully restricted.
  • Creating new buildings now checks to make sure there are no towers built or being built in that hex.
  • Gades Commandos, level 4, was selected as the winner of the March 200 DP prize drawing. As always, the empire with the highest monthly war rating (as recorded on the 1st of the month) from each level is entered into a drawing, and this month the level 4 winner was selected. Congratulations Gades Commandos and good luck to everyone in april!
  • Fixed some little display bugs with donation vehicles on the marketplace.
  • Fixed a problem where pirates were unable to conquer a zone that was recently taken in a LW by the owning empire.
  • Merlin-1B's now have their LRM ammo in the Right Torso.
  • Big Upcoming Change: Beginning monday, april 11, empires will be charged a storage fee for minerals. The fee will be: These fees will be added as a per-nevday charge. There is a new line on your income page if you have mineral stockpiles that shows how much you will be paying when the change is made. This figure is NOT currently figured into your subtotals and totals because it is not yet active. It is currently only for informational purposes.
  • Added a new feature that lets you delete mineral stockpiles. Only the emperor may use this feature.
  • Fixed a problem where empire levels were being calculated and not updated properly in some cases.
  • Paypal: We would like to thank Vehnom for helping to quickly resolve a serious incident involving Paypal and a large donation pool made in January. We recommend that players do not use PayPal to donate unless it is the only convenient method available to them. We are hearing horror stories about PayPal's service with increasing frequency and would like to do as little business through them as possible.

    4/6/05

  • The win-loss record on the arenas page has been reset. Wins and losses are now counted.
  • Fixed a problem with people being overcharged for LC movement sometimes.
  • Fixed a visual bug with the movement parts market that was also preventing items from being viewed properly on the parts page.

    4/4/05

  • Fixed an issue where creation-bets that were returned when an arena expired without being attacked were being incorrectly described as a double-kill.
  • Fixed a very rare bug where units would begin an attack in the middle of a zone when attacking normally, instead of on the appropriate side.
  • Fixed a bug where hatchets were able to fire after receiving critical damage.

    4/3/05

  • Fixed a bug that was not subtracting proper rep from high-rep pilots when they lose a mech.
  • Fixed a bug that was preventing people from getting rep for mech kills in rare instances.
  • Fixed a bug where after losing a duel, sometimes pilots were no longer assigned to their mechs.
  • Fixed a problem with some arenas listing extra units during the "in progress" phase which were not actually present.
  • Fixed the ammo locations on the Crockett CRK-5003-0 mech. It previously had ammo for the AC10 (in the LT) in the RT, and it was moved to the LT. Additionally the SRM ammo is now appropriately located half in each torso to correspond to the launchers, instead of all in the RT.
  • Please close help tickets that no longer contain important information! We spend (waste?) virtually all our time reading and replying to hundreds of help tickets every day. Please help us by closing tickets that do not contain valuable information that you feel is needed for us to fix a game-wide problem. The less time we spend replying to help tickets, the more time we can spend improving the game.

    4/2/05

  • Vote for Neveron! We are happy to announce that we are back in the running at MPOGD.com! Please go there and vote for Neveron. • Fixed a bug that was improperly setting vehicles to arrive home from repairs in the 21st century instead of the 33rd. Time travel baby...yeah!

    4/1/05
